Hello, I know it's early but, is there any rumors or news as far as a release date for Roden's M37? Have waited a long time to see one kitted. Wayne

I'd like to know, too. I have been wanting to build several of these for quite some time. Back when Skybow announced they were going to release one over ten to fifteen years ago I was pretty excited and then it never got released. I hope Roden actually follows through.

M37 HMC or truck???

It's the truck, but you should've been able to tell that from the number of responses . . . The HMC wouldn't generate that much interest. . .

I'd love an M37 HMC!!! With as many Chaffee's that AFV Club has I can't believe that they don't have an M37 HMC or M41 HMC?!?

It goes without saying I'd disagree with that- the M37 HMC did manage to see combat service during the Korean War (better than some of the subject that seem to have got a lot of interest on this site) and Rich explained the kit is half done already.

And as you ought to know, service life and historical or technical importance are essentially irrelevant to what receives interest. People are interested in what they think is cool.

" . . . and Rich explained the kit is half done already.[/quote]

Well, he did nothing of the sort, probably because such a statement is incorrect and reflects a near total absence of knowledge about the two vehicles. From an M37 model perspective the only usable parts of an M24 are the sprockets, wheels, tracks, and perhaps some of the suspension swing arms and detail parts like individual headlights. I'm not even sure the wheels would work as I believe the M24 kits have mud shields on the wheels while a quick look at images of the vehicles in Korea shows them removed.

People made similar claims years ago, insisting that Tamiya could "easily" make a DUKW because they had a CCKW in their line. About the only thing the two kits would share would be the steering wheel.

I maintain my original point, that talk of an M37 truck will generate more posts than talk of an M37 HMC. (Posts arguing that one or the other is more interesting don't count, BTW.)

Now available for preorder if anyone's interested: http://www.martola.com.pl/pl629/produkty64840/dodge_m_37_3_4_ton_4x4_cargo_truck

For some reason only on Polish version of the site. On English version, it is not orderable yet.

Looking at the box top on the LuckyModel site, it would appear that it is the B1 variant by the door mounted spare. I'm hoping that the kit is detailed enough to do an earlier version (ie, you can remove or not assemble the tire hanger)

Well, just seen on Evilbay, there are two sellers advertising them for $50.+. Both listings are from Kyiv, their spelling, not mine. Correction, both ads are same seller. Wayne

Looks pretty nice. It looks as though you can build it with either the rear and cab canvases up, or with just the bows. Also looks like two spare rims, but only one spare tire. It looks to have a full engine and compartment as well. I am looking forward to getting one.

Is there any engine detail included? The price seems a lot.

Looks very good based on the sprue shots. Wondering how long it will take to make it to the USA?

I found a couple of pictures my dad took in Vietnam with the M37, loaded with MPs and their dogs, so I will be checking this one out. I think I will wait until someone comes out with resin wheels, though- those kit wheels look like they wouldn't take paint very well.

I just ordered one a few minutes ago, so I am right there with you, Wayne. If mine turns out well, I am going to have to get a few more when I am able to.

Cheers,
James

Yeah, they were a lot more common than the MUTTs, so there's all kinds of possibilities. Who did you order from? Wayne
