Looks like Roden have improved their molds. I have the Rolls Royce 1920 Armored car w/ sand tires and it was kind of a dog....I did improve it with Black Dog stowage and Masterbox weapons.
This kit looks like it could be a nice one right out of the box.
I can't wait for the reviews.

James, did you get the one you ordered? If so, how long did it take to get to you?

Yes, I did get the one I ordered. It arrived last Tuesday or Wednesday. It is a pretty decent kit. I just started working on it. Keep in mind, I am not a very experienced vehicle modeler, so since it is a subject that I like and it seems relatively easy to build, I like it so far. I would like to have some resin wheels for it, though. There is some flash, but nothing out of the ordinary on the plastic parts.
Cheers,
James

Thanks. My local hobby shop expressed concerns about the quality of Roden kits in general, but having done resin models and a bunch of Shapeways 3D prints I'm pretty sure I can make one of these look decent!

I've built the Roden kit now, and to be honest I was a little distressed when I opened the box. The parts appeared to be soft on detail, and the instructions brought a few questions as to parts placement. If you are familiar with basic trucks in 1:1 scale, that is a plus with the kit.
Areas that were actually well-detailed came to light during the build. It was after the solid coat of primer and the first layer of color that I was really able to assess the actual quality of the assembled kit. Very nice.
I am looking forward to an AM replacement for the cab roof, something along the canvas line.
The vinyl tires look small and very square in profile. Now, I have seen pictures of a few restored M37s that had similar profile tires, but my reference pictures suggest something a bit larger in diameter, and with the tread profile a bit more rounded.
While browsing the Miniman Factory website, I saw that their resin M101 3/4 ton trailer kit has just the type wheels/tires that I was looking for. I emailed Gabor at MMF and he will provide just the wheels/tires without having to order two trailer kits. To tell the truth, I will probably order a trailer kit as well, as this was the standard trailer towed by the M37. I'll have to wait and see how the wheel backings are molded, to determine the best modifications to mount to the Roden brake drums.

just about to start building mine but thought of removing the rear roof mounts (apart form the front one directly behind the cab) and adding a cum (50 cal or 30 cal). Not going to go the full armoured guntruck route but more "troop carrier with 1 MG mounted"
