It has been a while since I did the review on this kit. Here is where the kit stands now. I am trying to find a good way to depict snow. Woodland Scenics is too fiberous. Embossing powder is too grainy for scale. I used white pastels to try to depict snow sticking to the surface and built up in the tracks, but it comes off easily and on darker surfaces leaves a chalky residue. The whitewash coating was done with craft acrylic whitewash, which doesn't come off like the regular white paint, so I couldn't wear the finish very much. The rear doors open, but one stuck enough that when I went to take the photo it broke off, but the repair should be simple.
I don't know if I should keep this finish and try to work with it or strip it down and start over.
Great nations do not fall because of external aggression; they first erode and decay inwardly, so that, like rotten fruit, they fall of themselves. The strength of a country is the sum total of the moral strength of the individuals in that country.
