I have the hardcover version of this book, grabbed it at a show a few years ago for $25.00.It is a great refrence and I use it all the time for my Tiger builds.
There is also a Jagdpanzer version which covers Hetzer to Jagdtiger.
Love them both.

OTHER GOOD REFERENCE OF THE TIGER TANK IN WW2.

Thanks for the review. Indeed a great reference, and costs a small fortune these days. Re Jagdpanzer book, mention was made on a part two -- open-topped vehicles if I recall the topic. Has this ever been published?

Thanks Adam ! Your review has prompted me to dig out my copy and the Jagdpanzer version and give them a read. I wonder why MMiR doesn't update and re-release them ? Sounds like a moneymaker to me......

Googled a bit, it seems that it has never got to press.

Hello all,
It is interesting that someone felt compelled to review a 13-year old book on this forum! Especially one that has been so long out of print.
My impression is that the title had fizzled in it's original form. We sold over 10,000 copies.
I had to chuckle at a few of Adam's comments.
His notion that the introduction photos could be seen anywhere is certainly true. However, it wasn't true in 2003! I worked really hard to find rare original images. Many of those seen in the front section were published there for the first time.
The Tiger is a perennially popular subject and there have been dozens of books released in the last ten years.
FYI, there are plans to update both the Tiger and the Jagdpanzer titles. However, we have always set the bar a little too high on these titles, so it will take time.
The Sherman, which closely followed the Tiger I format, had to be split in two books. Part two, which I hope to have complete this year, will also be large as it has 20 kits.
When I tell the guys it's time to get started on either of the two older titles, I always get yelled at. The general hue and cry is that we finish the Sherman and then turn to other new material.
I'll keep working on them. I can always pull rank...

I would think so, given the RFM kit.

I also have the Modelers Guide to the Jagdpanzer as well. Whew... nice to have.

How exactly would they go about that?
I mean, you can get photos from Bovington and Saumur to show interior layouts of two specific Tigers.
But where would you get information about the sequence of changes that happened to the interior?

Btw, that reference is still the only kind with line drawings for all variants and subvariants.
Nope. Wrong. With all due respect to Pat, his statement about the all of the line drawings seen in TMGTTTT being submitted as originals, found in the "Acknowledgements" on Page 2 of the book, isn't exactly truthful. All of the line drawings were originally published in Ground Power Special Issues Feb 2001 and April 2001, predating TMGTTTT by two years:
I'm comparing the line drawings in both TMGTTTT and the Feb 2001 Ground Power issue and they are not similar, but the exact same ones. That doesn't mean I don't think that TMGTTTT isn't a good reference, which it certainly is.

Hey Pat, I had no idea anyone that worked on the book would see the review. I chose to review it because as a newby 2 years ago the book was mentioned by lots of guys and I figured it must have value. If you do an updated Tiger I book I'm sure there are lots of guys around here that would be thrilled and even help out if need be.

It is a fact that the artist sent his original art to us for scanning. The context of that comment was to illustrate that we made some small alterations to the drawings in order to bring them in line with the data reflected in the Jentz books.
In addition to appearing in the the Ground Power books, many of the sketches also found their way into the Model Art armor specials.
