Predecessor of HMMWV known as "Dumvee" was a vehicle Desert Mobility Vehicle (DMV), developed in Desert Mobility Vehicle System (DMVS).

The Desert Mobility Vehicle System project began in 1985 and ended 5 years later with the development of modified vehicles, tactics, and doctrine, in the form of the training circular "Special Forces Mounted Operations".

The project was intended to enable 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) to conduct joint and unilateral mounted operations in desert environments using specially modified HMMWVs, trailers, satellite navigation equipment, and desert mobility motorcycles. The HMMWV component was referred to as the Desert Mobility Vehicle (DMV) or "Dumvee" a name that was subsequently used to refer to other Special Operations HMMWV types regardless of origin. These initial vehicles were based on M998 and M1026 HMMWV types. The vehicles were subsequently used during the first Gulf War in 1991 and in Somalia in 1992-1993.

Unfortunetly just two photos original HMMWV

One of the most interesting Humvee variants for me. But I couldn't find many detailed photos of those vehicles.

I will be watching your progress.

There are only 2 photos of these vehicles. The one above (in 4 variants in different colors) and another one:

This time more rocky . Of course , the only base . I have 3 Concepts
a. the most appropriate

b.less correct, because a little crowded

c.This I like the most because of the sniper , which I can use anywhere

Nice job so far but for your vignette, I would suggest that the vehicle be lower than the figures. It makes less sense to have a sniper team so close to their vehicle and this same vehicle so easy to spot.
Just my 2 cents

Olivier- thank you for your opinion
Base painted . Now I will scrap testing methods painted camouflage. Rubbing pigment hard , cut off the tip of the brush . The second version is almost dry brush rubbing paint. .
The dilemma again, however, this plate on top. Skarik in this model installed a board . Basically, this is similar solution as the vehicle 's title .
http://www.humvee-models.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1493

I did two pictures based one of the " sheet " prepared under the pigments , the second board of balsa wood
What do you think?

Still IMHO a beautiful model. It really tells a story, the ground work is superb and I guess the modelling is old school but it really works. This inspired me every time I looked at it.

this "scud-hunters" units in the real world efficiency to much.example in 1991 gulf-war the british send one special-operations unit of 8 men(bravo-two-zero). to end of the day only return between 4 o 3 survivors. the rest death or pow"s.was very unsuccessful unit.

I love the camo. If I ever decide to build another Humvee, I think it will be this one.

Thanks for all the photos, I'm saving them for reference.

I've really enjoyed watching this build Piotr. Its a very interesting subject and I think you have really brought it to life brilliantly. The scratch-building, painting, finishing and basing are all superb and add up to a very interesting scene.
