I doubt it! But thanks for the kind words. I need to get out of the mentality that you can weather figures the same way that you do vehicles/objects. I used Tamiya acrylics on this one, but I think I'm ready to make the jump to artists oils.

Nicely done. I have two figures that I need to paint like this. Not sure how I'm going to make it with my shaky hands.

I started out here: http://www.timelinesforum.com/index.php?page=oakleaf1
But I'm not the greatest color matcher and my painting technique still needs alot of work.

Just last night, someone recommended that article to me. Thanks for re-posting the link!

If only I could get figures to look that good! The weathered,"used" finish on the MG, ammo box & his equipment really stand out. Excellent job!!

If that is a first attempt, "outstanding" is the word I'd be thinking of! Definitely don't stop! Seriously though, if you want to improve further, I'd suggest obtaining Calvin Tan's Osprey book in which he explains his methods, including using the colours in the camo pattern to shade. Be careful though, you may find yourself addicted!

Thanks for the heads up on Calvin Tan. I think I may pick up his book, probably has a lot of useful info on painting all figures

Damn that is a very nice pattern you have got there Joe- you should be very pleased with that. I would also recommend Calvin Tan's Osprey book, as Steve did, it provides some great info on how to do both this pattern and others and goes into a healthy amount of detail about it.
In terms of 'weathering' your figures- what exactly do you mean?

I was referring to trying to use washes and dry brushing for showing variation on fabrics, when I should be using more blending of colors.

I think you picked one of the most difficult camm patterns to paint and you should be proud of your result! It looks really good man,no worries.
