You can thank Ronny (Roadkill) for inspiring me some time back to get an online calendar system for the site. It is now online here.

Please submit any events you are aware of that are not already listed. We have all the big upcoming US events I think.

Cheers,
Jim

Great idea!
The IPMS chapter in Indy is having a contest in March. I don't know if should go on the calendar or not...

Shaun,
Most definately. This calendar is pretty cool in that even reoccurring events could be added to it. Perhaps eventually I will modify it a bit so that re-occurring events (like monthly club meetings) could show up if they are in your state/region.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

yet another big improvement ! I'm getting used to saying "THANK YOU" to ya #:-)

To the ALS editors...don't forget to add the "_EVENTSLINK" to your Home.php (correct Jim ???) file in your language directory

Terrific new feature again Jim!
Will there will be a link to this on the home page in the near future?

Jim, are only staff members allowed to post events? I've been trying to add an entry on the 29th of Feb., 43rd Illinois Plastic kit and Toy show / Model contest, in Wheaton at the DuPage county fairgrounds, but it doesn't seem to save. Maybe a staffer could add it, if that is the case?

Thanks,
Mike

Doh! Sorry Mike it should be a bit more clear in the submission process. An admin has to approve all submitted events. They won't show up immediately.

Some of the things I hope to add to this in the future are:

1. The ability to RSVP as an attendee. This way we can see which members are going and you can possbily meet-up, car-pool, etc, more easily.

2. A full Events page (btw Ken the link is already on the homepage in the main menu!)
- This page will include events that are nearing.
- Based on your selected location in your profile it will highlight local events (country/state/province).
- A section will display recent additions to the Events section in the gallery.
- Recent posts from the Events forum.

3. I would also like to tie this into a larger "Club" engine that will track info about various IPMS, AMPS, or other modeling clubs and be able to show their re-occuring meetings (monthly?).

Of course some of these are far off. I "still" need to finish up the Campaigns module.... dammit !

Posted the sched for the 2nd IPMS Philippines - Bert Anido Chapter Nationals. Does the calendar have a day duration feature? The event is from Oct 11 to 17 2004 and I can't seem to figure out how to show that without reposting the same event on the other days. Am I missing something?

And I think there's a bug in the dropdown filter. When I select "All" I can see all events including the one I posted. When I select "Philippines" nothing is displayed.

Thanks!

John,
It does have the option of setting the number of hours for the show. But that wont mean it will show up on both days. To do that you do have to submit it for both days. Lame I know, but most of the calendar aps seem to work this way.
