I bought one off ebay last Friday and got it today. It was $110 shipped priority, but the best part is the seller did not mention it also included a set of Friul Tracks plus the Eduard sets for the tractor AND the trailer! I could not believe it when I saw them.
Very happy. Going to use this build as a guide.

*** UPDATE ***
Once the components were painted and dry, I have mounted the fenders, front grill, cab and the engine hood (not glued). Then a washing with dark blue oil colors, dark brwon oil colors and a pin washing with black oil colors followed. Details were painted and a dry brushing with light grey.
The floor of the drivers cab was dusted with beige pigments and dry brushed with iron colored pigments.
The seats were painted in beige, then the leather simulated with dark brwon oil colors.
The recovery device on the rear was mounted, then brush painted in rusty colors, a bit of iron added and a water/salt mix applied. Then airbrushed in dark yellow/brwon/beige, then washed with brown oil colors.
Further details were added - the lamps, the details on the front fenders (wire plus brass balls), rear lamps mounted and painted, ....
The actual situation:
Next topics:
- Canvas on the drivers cab in a light beige color
- door canvas, driver's open. Also in a light beige color.
- Decals, markings, licence plates, ....
- Some load on the cargo bed (barrels, chests, part of the recovery device, tools, cans, ...)
- Dust, mud, scratches etc.... on the body (will be done when the trailer is finished too)
- figures
- engine covers left & right side (these will be painted in a beige camouflage, weathered and installed on one side only (or none).
Cheers
Micha

Hello,
some new updates... a little process later
The engine covers left and right were painted in beige, then camouflage in green and red-brown, then weathering. I think one side will be mounted, the other one remains on the cargo bed.
The canvas was painted in beige, then fully painted with brown oil color, then the oil color was wiped away. Same was done with the canvas at the entries.
The barrels, crates and other stuff was painted in some different colos and washed with oil color.not finished yet. Some sheer metal, leaked oil, dirt and more will follow.
Next are the decals, then some leaking oil and grease, some dirt, ...
Then I have to think about if I want to use the hoops for the tarpaulin or not .....
Then I will put the Famo aside and go on with the trailer ....
The dirt itself, dust etc. follows later on the Famo, together with the trailer.
Cheers

Hello,
and some more update. The small stuff is painted and weathered a bit ...
the decals still missing as well as dust, dirt ... follows later.
The canvas needs one more layer of matt varnish... just thinking which one will give it a 100% matt look?
Also started with the trailer - Sd.Ahg. 116 some first parts glued together, some details added... resin wheels (not glued yet) and ready for painting later...
Now the rear part ...
Cheers

Hello,
the tractor received some first steps of weathering with sand colored pigments....
The trailer is also fully built in the meantime... and painted in German Grey by Tamiya (after black primer, brown wooden color, salt).
The decals followed, also a light grey dry brushing, painting of the details and a layer of clear coat.
The weathering started also with sandy pigments ...
Cheers

Hello,
one small update for the Famo. I have glued together some of the figues of the Tamiya kit. I hate painting figures and I can not paint figures. But it must go...
At least it looks a bit busy now. Now I have to think about leaving the roof open or close. Open or close...? Open? Close? Let's see....
Next step - going on with the tank on the trailer ....
Cheers

The question of "devil's lawyer":
why would a Luftwaffe vehicle transport the tank, and furthermore, why is it manned by infantrymen from the Army? I am basing my question on license plates "WL" which is for Luftwaffe, and "WH" would be appropriate for Army.
Other than that, i closely monitor your progress which is a fantastic build.
Best regards,
Marko

Hi Marko,
oh ... ahm....yes....hmm... that's a realy good question. Such things happen if somebody builds a model without knowing anything about the historical backgrounds
Maybe I should change the licence plates? Would it make sense? I fear yes .....
Cheers / Thank you ...

you can just put WH over WL, or H over L decal... that would solve it. Otherwise, it would have been more colorful to paint soldiers in blue uniforms, deleting upper pockets and adding red collar tabs (Luftwaffe field troops), but why would they mess with PzIII?
Anyway, fantastic build and painting so far! Happy modelling!

Maybe a Pz IV Flakpanzer would have worked as I believe the Luftwaffe was issued some for AA defense.

Hello,
the "Jagdpanzer IV" is finished. I have added a turned metal barrel and some provisory added plates on the sides which will receive a different color later.
The tank will be primed red now, then painted in German Yellow, green and dark brown camouflage.
Cheers

Hello,
finally I have finished the Sd.Kfz.9 "Famo" + Sd.Ah.116 + Jagdpanzer IV. The kit in scale 1/35 is by Tamiya, the tank is by Mr. Hobby.
Additionally I have used the Friul tracks, resin wheels and front grill, resin fenders, photo etched parts by Aber and Tamiya.
Cheers
