I've been screaming for a new M113 for a long time! A much overlooked APC. Its as if they made the mold in the 70s and 80s and then called it a day.
So many possibilities, so many different variants

All we need now is a Sheridan!

The current M113s (and a lesser extent Bradleys also) kits drove me nuts with their screwed up suspensions (lack of detail and spacing issues), due to me wrenching on them about 20 years ago. I hope they get the dished wheels right on the M113!

If it was a re-box again wouldn't they show the whole kit?? Seems like it would be a new one to me. Hopefully they do the Aussie version too.

An Indian army Cent would be welcome, too. And if they do a new M-113, maybe they'll release some interesting variants, like a Vulcan.

It is a new kit, because much like Tamiya, you can typically tell by the item number.

In this case it is 35113. For those that have paid attention, AFV Club has reserved product numbers that relate to the kit. It's 35113, which means M113. If you need to confirm this, the Sdkfz 231 and 232 kits are numbered 35231 and 35232, the M60A1 is 35060, M41A3 is 35041, etc. Typically, kits that are not all new and use parts from other manufacturers don't follow this numbering method- the FSV was 35023. I'm sure there are exceptions in AFV Club's catalog, but it is usually a good indication.

Hyun Jin Kim. who is attending the show, confirmed that it is indeed a new M113 by AFV Club.. I always follow his news whenever he attends these shows.. and that's good enough for me Got to start saving some more for these

Hisham

P.S. If that M109 truck has interior detail in the back, it would be an awesome kit

Hisham,

I don't have facebook. Can you ask if the M113 hull has that silly hole in the left hull filled in? No one needs a motorized kit!

Thanks! Great pics.

That is a new hull for sure. The huge hole over the left drive sprocket for the electric motor is finally gone, as are the other holes in the hull.

No engine can be lived with as long as the rest of the interior is going to be there!

David Chou, on FB, gets their early samples to build them for AFV Club, and this is what he said... I hope he's right

"David Chou AFV Models 芭樂afv模型誌 Soon....m60A2 will be released late this month and M113 will follow in summer."

The M109

A new Shot Kal?

Hisham

M109 Van has been first announced by AFV Club in 1993 or 1994. After such a long planning time, it must be a hell of a kit.

Unfortunately, AFV CLUB has never exactly been very quick to get their kits into the market- It took them 5 years to get their M5A1 (early) Stuart to the hobby shops, and another 2 years to do the same with their M5A1 (late)... Whatever the case may be, AFV CLUB's kits are usually worth the long wait...

IMO, I'm happier to WAIT for an EXCELLENT kit, rather than an almost immediate release of a MEDIOCRE ONE!!!

?... And how do you think, why they show them in Shizuoka?...
And even if they aren't actually going to make them, do you really expect them to admit that on the announcement day?

Times have changed. Back then they didn't have such competition from Mainland China, as they have now: Trumpeter/HB, Takom, Meng, RFM. Now if they don't do it, someone else will. And soon. I expect more M113 kit announcements in a matter of days or weeks.

And I suspect that M109 truck may be a Ding-Hao release, i.e. plastic AFV Club kit base with resin HobbyFan rear shop structure, in one box.

Great news! No engine no problem (for me) as I usually don't build it. Ramp pulley IS a must. Hope AFV follows the line and release more versions, as they have done with the M60, M24, etc.

Cheers

I'm hoping they do a M113A3 soon...I'd like to build another Medic track from Bonisa from when I was deployed there 20 years ago.

I'll still build the Academy M981 I have since I don't see that coming out for a very long time from them.
