Already well advanced models here.

Beginning of my built:

I decide to replace Academy turret with Bronco Models turret more accurate and fine.

Three Legend Productions figures in progress. Driver, passenger and gunner.

I replace the head of the passenger with another Legend Prod head because the original part has a big air buble on the chin and I prefer a head with helmet.

Rhino device from Blast Models.

I would like to make the humvee like on this photo:

I finally got around to cracking the seal on the second-hand kit I bought in Tokyo a couple years back and was surprised to find a book and a tube of glue that I guess originally came with the kit. Cool!

Shaping up to be a good-looking kit in spite of being slightly the worse for sitting in a box with a book on top of the sprues for 22 years.

That said, there are some manufacturing issues that will need to be dealt with.

On the right you can see one of the swing arms that needs to have some plastic card added to cover up some gaping holes. May not be be technically accurate, but since this will be nearly invisible I didn't need/want an elaborate fix.

Up next you can see the huge gap between the road wheels and the polycaps. A bit more plastic card to create a nice little bushing and everything is snuggly-wuggly.

The last issue is the most annoying so far: The plastic contracted as it cooled and left sunken pits on several swing arm hubs. I have started fill them and will need to come up with replacement retaining bolts. Haven't found anything useful in the spares box, and would prefer not to spend $$ on AM bolt heads so may have to get creative.

Hello all,

My progress
Figures in place with Echelon decals for the unit insignas (4th infantry division)

doors. Due to driver figure I have removed a interior part because it doesn't fit well.

I used Arms Corps Models loops to replace the loops molded on the rear of the humvee.

Hi,
Be worry about my mind, so I get this to the Academy campaign instead of my former M-3 Lee.

It's molded in 1997!

K.

Hull assembly on the IDF M-60 is done. Very frustrating because the instructions have you start placing blazer on the hull, but there is no mention of the fact that if you are going to add the mine roller there are certain parts of the blazer that have to be left off. Fortunately, I figured it out before passing the point of no return--but only barely. Have made up for that frustration by working on the Friul tracks. I don't normally splurge on those, but they seem to be the only Merk tracks out there. Friuls are so easy to work with compared to many of the other styrene links. These flew together in just a couple of hours. Unfortunately, the box contained two left-handed sets of links, but I'm hoping a casual observer won't notice.

My final result as i left it now for a couple of weeks on the shelf but i can't think off anything i can add, so i call it done,..
(it's a first for me also as it seems i finish well on time)

new seat installed and added seat belts,.. looks a bit better,.

also i added a base

The inspiration for the base came from this picture i found on the web.

i like the scene so if i ever find such a soldier i will add it.

Thanks

End of my M1151 and I call it done. I'm not satisfied about the paint aspect.

I add a mesh and a net on the turret. I try to figure two IR lights on the front of the vehicle.

Originally the model has the same position for the two side mirrors. I have modified the left one.

Looks great, Alex!

I just finished my M7 Priest for the Holy Orders campaign, and am now full court press on this campaign. Have not been going crazy replacing all the molded on grab handles, etc, but thought the tension springs for the mine roller looked decidedly unspring-like. Have fabbed some replacements, which although not completely accurate, look IMHO much better.

Mark thank you.

Your metal springs are much better than plastic ones.

Even in plastic this type of part is usually better made.

More work on mineroller. The chain provided in the kit was all wrong so I had to make my own link-by-link:

Everything is dry fit for now until painting is done.

Took something of a hiatus while the entire extended family invaded my home for the holidays. Was fun, but it's nice to have some quiet bench time again. Today I got pre-shading and base coat done. Started on the detail painting:
