Looks tempting, although long-waited...but (probably) better than Dragon's. Time will tell.

It may be better then Dragon's, but that's irrelevant since they are different versions - this one is a Mk.1, the Dragon kit is a Mk.2.

It is relevant. I personally don't care whether I will have Mk1 or Mk2 in my collection as soon as it is accurate for the version it is meant to represent. The Dragon "Mk2" is a mess, so hopefully this one will be accurate for Mk1.

I don't care either as long as it makes up for the insane disappointment the Dragon kit ended up being.

Who is going to be first to slap a Centurian turret on one and call it a Caernarvon?

Totally agree on that, let them do it right, whatever version it is!

True. Just seems odd they'd do a MkI that only had 20 vehicles, versus the MkII that had 165. I've got the Dragon kit and, holy crap, everything from the suspension up needs to be replaced. Its neither a MkI or a MkII. Not even the MkI rebuilt to the MkII standard. Don't know where they got their reference from.

Got to start somewhere. Mk2 or ARV next? I presume they chose the Mk1 for interchangeability of parts with the FV215B model developed from the same chassis but not proceeded with. AH do two flavours of the Lowe.

Companies normally release the rare versions first to get the "I gotta get that!" crew, plus some regular modelers, then follow up with the common version to get the regular guys on top of the "I gotta get that too!" people.

The thought is that if you put the main version out first the regular people will slake their thirst on it and pass on the oddballs, giving an overall lower sales total.

DRAGON's Conqueror came from their BLACK PLAGUE Division, which is NOTORIOUS for producing JUNK!!!

I sincerely HOPE that AMUSING HOBBY does a much better job!

Is there MK2 accurate Centurion turret available to build one of the Mk1 Caerneverons using this kit?

I don't know what is available in the market these days. I feel sure that Accurate Armour did a whole bunch of Centurion conversion parts. May be worth an email to Derek. Or back date one of the available resin Mk3 turrets?

According to AH Facebook page both kits are to be released August. So may be a little closer to being seen in the wild....

Hi Dennis,

2DRAGON's Conqueror came from their BLACK PLAGUE Division, which is NOTORIOUS for producing JUNK!!!"

It is the best description I've heard concerning the DRAGON "Black Label" scrap!

I had build the Conqueror Mk. 2.

A modelling company not replicating the fuel filler caps?

What kind of crap is it?

Best regards

Omitting fuel caps is one of the least serious mistakes Dragon have made on their Black Death kits...

THAT'S FOR SURE!!! |:

After reading numerous reviews of DRAGON's BLACK PLAGUE/BLACK DEATH kits, (DRAGON ain't what it USED to be, either!!!), I steer completely clear of them! Why piss myself off?!?

Whilst I agree that Dragon could have put a lot more effort into their Conqueror, it still has quite a presence on the display tables. As acknowledged, the major faults are nearly impossible to rectify without a considerable rebuild, but other faults can be tweaked.

I too look forward to the Amusing Hobby version and will probably get one, even though it appears I'll have to provide my own fume extractor.

Excellent, is that yours Hisham? I don't really have any interest in building that kit myself, but I would love to see that one with paint on. There are a couple of Conquerors in my future for sure!

Why it looks more like the World of Tanks version, than the known photo of a mockup/prototype of this vehicle?...

Note the shape of armor near gun trunions.
