Finally calling this one complete. It was a difficult build but pleased with the result. Went easy on the weathering except for the wheels.
Thanks everyone for watching, commenting and encouraging.

Sean, it came out reall well. As they say, less is better...your weathering is very good. It's always hard to say when it's enough when we are in the zone, but you nailed it
So, what will be next on the chopping block? Decisions decisions...

Nice clean build Sean. Unless you get caught in some heavy rain there doesn't seem to be any reason for more than just some dust buildup. I like that approach. I'm not saying A-stan doesn't get rain, but most of it does fall in Pakistan or along their shared border.

Eric

Very nice job, Sean.. I like the look of those Bronco headlights.. I need to get me a couple of sets to use with my MENG Cougar... Now, the MENG cougar will feel like it is building itself compared to the Panda Cougar

Congratulations!Your built is an example for complete construction and a guide for those, including me, who want to build the Panda kit. Indeed i do not remember any other same build of the Panda Cougar

Very nice looking Cougar, I like it. But You have to pay more attention to the details and to the choice of colors. You've got orange lights at the rear and red in the front - they should be vice versa. Also this greenish colour of antennas is a little bit strange.
One more thing - I don't think that Duke and Chameleon antennas on one vehicle is the right choice. The first was an Army's system while the second was a Marine's one. I've been googling 'Cougar MRAP' graphics for some time and I haven't found a single photo of vehicle with both antennas.
Generally, I repeat - nice looking model

Thanks Kuba, and you are right. I did rush it at the end. I can fix the lights, no problem. I should have looked up the colour for the antennas but went with what looked right to me. But then I'm read/green/brown colour blind. It's why I like doing sand coloured vehicles. What colour would you recommend?
I didn't realise you can't have Duke & Chamelion together. I'll blame that one on Panda and ignore it for now.

Cheers Aristedies, I do hope my build log will be of use to you and look forward to watching yours progress.
Mike, I might do something easier first before the Meng Cougar.....like finishing my 1/350 USS Nathan James to clear some space on the desk

Hi Sean, very nice build of your Cougar about the colour on the duke antenna i think you can have a sand or like tamiya buff or something.. I think it's very difficult to say what colour it is on the real pictures..and about the duke and chameleon antennas... If it is like that you are not the only one, almost all pictures i have saved on cougar models have both antennas like you have.. as both Panda models and Meng models show that you shall use both at the same time..
But on all pictures i have saved on real Cougars it is like Kuba say, they only have one version of the antennas... But maybe it's still possible.. Somebody probably know for sure here..
But well done and thanks for showing us the kit.. And for me as a new guy here it's very fun to see all nice kits here..
So i looking forward to your next build

Sean - for BFT antenna I usually use Humbrol 121 Pale Stone, but for newer vehicles You can use a light grey colour. For Duke antenna - a light grey colour too (but maybe a little darker than for BFT) and You should paint a whole antenna - now only upper part has this greenish grey colour. Chameleon - the same sand colour as for whole model.

Thanks guys.
Kuba, by "whole antenna" do you mean the bit that raises the height on the front Duke? I know the black & silver connection is right, if not perfectly executed. But the pole below that? Vehicle colour or antenna colour?

By 'the whole antenna' I mean both parts - below and above the black & silver connection. Sometimes even this small horizontal base is painted with the same colour:
I think You could easily repaint Duke and Chameleon antennas. If You manage to remove BFT antenna from its base, You could repaint it too.
