Hi All,

I know I screwed up somehow, but cannot figure out how this is supposed to attach. Can you tell what I did wrong. If you need another pic, please let me know. Here are a couple.

the bolted strip you have between the transmission & the bottom plate of the hull is supposed to go between the top of the transmission and the top of the hull eg joins the tranny to the top of hull in front of the mg & hatches

Can't tell from the pics but you might have the whole tranny upside down.

John,

You have one of the Taska E8's that Tamiya boxed. The trans is too low, and a bit too far forwad. It is a tricky fit. I had some similar troubles on my first kit, so now I tape the upper and lower hulls together and glue in the trans using both as a guide.

With a little care it should fit. Good luck.

Thanks. I will have to see what I can figure out. At least I can see I had the right parts, but must have glued something a little funny.

Happy 4th of July

I find the lower bolt strip, part J24, to be extraneous and gets in the way of a good fit. If you can, remove it completely. I've built several Tasca/Asuka Shermans and know by experience to skip that invisible part.

Thanks for the extra information. I am admittedly a little frustrated with it right now. Going to shelf it for a little and come back to it...

Thanks again.
