Now to install the Gun.

You will need a piece of tubing that fits over the end.

Some really nice looking work. Project is coming together quiet well. The AM goodies really to the build. Anxious to see some paint on the beast.

The instructions call for Model Master #1711 FS34087.
I used Model Master #1787 FS34086 Green Drab
I think that the FS34086 looks a lot closer to what I saw in Vietnam many years ago.

Here is the Track I'm planning on using .

The Parts.
A lot of clean up here.

I started off with the Connectors and Guide Horns .
First off this is how I did it, there are other ways to do it.
This way I found it is less likely to get the glue into the working parts when adding the Guide horns.

Holly crap! Those tracks would drive me nuts after the 100th time a piece stuck to my fat fingers!

I don't think there's enough ritilan in the world to keep me focused that long.

Amazing work... I feel like an armchair modeler - when I get to a frustrating part or get bored with the repetitive tasks, I set it aside, and go buy another model to stash away.

I have the Track parts painted.
I painted the Track Pads Nato Black.

I then masked off the Black to paint the inside metal areas.

Here is what they look like after painting.

The connectors after painting.

Now I have a lot of trimming to remove the parts from the Sprue, then the touch up painting on the black areas.
Regards.

I figure I had better get the wheels installed, so I have something to wrap the track around to get its final length.

The tubing was glued to the axles, and the wheels are just press fit.
They stay on realy good. This way if I screw this up, I can salvage the wheels.

I started the track.
The Brass areas are 1/4" square tubing that I made into a jig for track assembly.

I finally finished and installed them.

First here are a couple of Pics. showing a comparison of the Bronco Track and the Dragon kit Track.
Both inside and outside .

The Dragon Track has 76 shoes and it took 79 of the Bronco Track shoes to make the track run. The Dragon Trac was just the right length.
The Dragon track pads are slightly larger than the Bronco ones.
I don't know which if any of them are correct.

It was tight getting the Bronco Track to fit, I used 79 links, 80 would have been way to loose.

The track is rather tight, not really that workable .
I first fastened the correct end of the track to the top of the sprocket, then bent the track around the wheels ending back at the sprocket. I had to stretch it a little to get the track end connectors to line up with the sprocket teeth.

Here is how it looks around the sprocket.

Well that's how I did the track, I'm not shure if I ever want to do that again, way too much work.
