To bad, don't know what they are looking for, you got my vote for sure.
Thanks for taking pictures, and spending the time to showing the build.

Nice builds! But god knows what's going on in the mind of a judge, right?
I like what you did with the Pz. IV, especially the weathering, and the overall thing doesn'tlook like a model to me, rather like the real thing. Anyhow, a few things to consider:
One thought occured to me while looking at the pics of your Pz. IV: One of the Schürzen plates seems to be warped, which did happen back then. However, I wonder whether Zimmerit would keep sticking to the bended parts of the steel plate, given that is a cement like substance which tended to flake off easily when under stress? Unless the Zimmerit was applied onto the already bent plate of course...
And while am at it (not that I'm a judge), I find the overall apperance of your Pz. IV to be very dark. When you compare it to your other builds, it looks like it's got a green base coat, when it should be dunkelgelb with disintguishable red and brown camo (which you did). I suppose you were a bit heavyhanded with dark washes, result being that the colours are melted together and the light base coat colour now very dark.
And one last thing: The inside of hatches shouldn't be painted white/ elfenbein, but the same colour as the outside base coat. This was standard practice for obivous camouflage reasons, and I've never come across any pictures showing differently at least that late in the war.
Cheers and keep on modelling!

Hi Nicolas
I totaly agree on the schurtzen , i Should have made more zimmerit damage and some clean areas from it.
About the dunkelgelb that is spot on by you , way to green . Didnt want to respray with a lighter tone because i was afraid of hiding the camo to much. This is a real noob error . To bad that i see it first now
With The hatches i took some artistic freedom , and you are probably right there too..
I really appreciate that you took your time to take a look at My build and your critics are spot on . Comments like yours hopefully makes me a better builder Thanks

Magnus,
Too bad about the competition. Still looks super awesome to me.
Thanks for sharing your build. Incredible how large it is.

Hi Magnus. It is a really nice build with some very nice touches and the important thing is that you had fun building it. Adding details like the jack block and the painting of the exhaust come to mind. Don't worry too much about the contest - armour is a very tough field in which to impress the judges!
I am no expert, but from what I know the judges look more for modelling basics and consistency than for strict historical accuracy. A basics issue might come into play for the balkenkreuz on the turret that looks to be proud of the zimmerit - needs to be 'snugged' down or hand painted on. A consistency issue might arise if mud is splattered on the outside of the road wheels, but not on the inside, for example, or that the rubber on the road wheels looks perfect and clean but with mud splattered on top. Weather in layers!
Anyway hope that helps and thanks for sharing the build!

Hey Magnus,
you're welcome. THe thing with the colour and dark washes is one I find very difficult to deal with myself... and I've messed up number of builds...
Anyhow, don't let the judges pull you down! (Coming from a lawyer )

I see know that i started to paint way to green as a base, from there it just got worse. Probably gonna repaint the tank and start over , brass schurtzen and Putty zimmerit . No decals just sprayed Numbers . No i wont give up regardless what the judges say
