I just finished the initial builds on these two Shermans. A late model M4A3 and a mid-production M4A1. I need to replace the star on the deck of the M4A1 (too small). Still need detail painting and weathering and light lenses added. Both are Tasca/Asuka kits.

Tres Cool. A big Sherman fan here. Looking forward to seeing your weathering.

What do you use for gloss coats?

F.Y.I - If you super glue just a couple of track links near the top of the drive sprocket and then turn the sprocket backwards about an sixteenth of a turn, it will make the top front run of return track lay right down on that first return roller and skid.
Same trick works on German half-tracks when using rubber band tracks.

I left the idler arms loose to get the tracks off and on for weathering. They adjust pretty tight when I get ready to glue them.

I use Future floor polish. Didn't work that great this go around, still had a lot of silvering on the edges. No biggie since they will be depicted as painted over.

Sorry, misread part of your post. I'll give that a try with fixing the track to the sprocket. Thanks for the tip.
