Hi;
IMHO it looks more like A T-80 than A T-90 !

ie;) Engine Deck and Driver's Periscopes. Maybe it mite even be A T-84.

I Know; Wishful thinking !!

The common opinion seems to suggest its a T84 and likely the Oplot variant

So i hope they will release something that is not russian soon, as it feels like they only release that nowdays and it start to get very boring soon.. Ok it's nice that they release it but not all the time as there are so many other countries too that they can make kits from... But someone will be happy for it so that is good, but please next time...

It seems to me that Trumpeter has taken the decision to concentrate on these Soviet/Russian subjects.. at least for some time.. and they left the HobbyBoss "branch" to do a little variety every now and then... And with what MENG, Takom, Tiger-Model and AFV Club are doing, I don't think this is a problem.. different modelers are getting their different wishes

Another T-something from Trumpeter, boring. How about something new. At least Takom is keeping us excited.

It seems like a T-80D vehicle judging from the engine deck. But the grill pattern on the deck does not look like any of the T-80UD style.

БМ ОПЛОТ I guess. Front glacies armor looks like "nozh" or "duplet" blocks. As for me, it's very welcomed and long expected. Keep them coming trumpy!

The Frog rocket system was announced some time ago, and they posted this pic at the time.. that's why they're not treating it as a new announcement

They also showed this one, on the same truck, I guess

I would love to see the T-84 Oplot, they might just be trying to make sure and beat XactScale who has announced one also. Its been so quiet from X.S. though, beating them to a release isn't saying much. I don't know much about the Oplot, but it seems that there are different variants, so I would be glad to see that Trumpeter is doing it, because they seem to bring out all the versions they can from every model.

Just your point of view.
For me every T-whatever new kits are great news after decades when the only options available were the mediocre Tamiya T-62 and the ugly Esci T-55 series.

Good Lord, have we come this far? It's not like Trumpeter is releasing
yet another IS-4, BEREG, KS-19, 2P19, 2S3, 52-K, S-65, or even Sherman or Panther for that matter; they are issuing new subjects or subjects that were poorly done the only time they've been made. And you think that's boring?

Wait a minute . . . Wasn't their latest "exciting" announcement a King Fvcking Tiger?!? Are you sh1tting me? It hasn't been a year since people responded to a the latest DML Tiger I announcement with "Yawn", and you are calling the release of new subjects "boring" but another King Tiger "exciting"??
This has to be a fvcking joke. It has to be.

It's really cute that Trumpeter releases things that start with "t"
Esoteric Russian stuff that few would have thought would see resin release let alone plastic? And you know what's even better it is not German.
Germany had to do paper cloud cuckoo land panzers to get anything close to this exotic line up!

Maybe someone should pull their head out of their ass and read before they speak. Takom made two major announcements today prior to the announcement from Trumpeter.

I hope it is a T-84!

Searching the web i found that there are several variants of T-84: T-84, T-84U, T-84 OPLOT, T-84 OPLOT-M nad T-84-120 YATAGAN. I tried to figure out the visible differences and gathered the following images:
1) T-84

2) T-84U

3)T-84 OPLOT-M

4)T-84 OPLOT

Concerning Yatagan variant it should be same as the Oplot with no visual differences, since it is a prototype version of Oplot tailored for evaluation by the Turkish Army. Are these real the several variants?

OK . . . Their latest "exciting" announcement
BEFORE TODAY was a King Fvcking Tiger. Better?
The point still remains that Trumpeter has issued dozens of kits of artillery, softskins, and armor that have never been done (or done well) in plastic, and you call that boring and want "something new". That's ridiculous.

More research shows that the T-84 (modified T-80UD) was initially called T-84U so to correct previous post:
1) T-84U

2) T-84 OPLOT

3)T-84 OPLOT-M

4)T-84-120 YATAGAN

Really difficult to define the different variants!

A T-84 would be most welcome and I will buy it, since the other announced kit appears to be vaporware. In that vein, it would be nice if Trumpeter also released the Al Khalid they promised some years back. . .

You didn't hear about Tamiya's new M10, or are you talking about some other variant?
