"As MRAPs patrol urban areas and more open terrain, the turret gunner is vulnerable to a number of dangers, including overhead wires stretching across the roadway. To provide better protection for the gunner and the vehicle as a whole, TARDEC devised the MRAP overhead wire mitigation kit, the arced metal struts seen here, which can push the wires safely up and out of the way. The OWM kit also reduces the potential for damage to local infrastructure, including power, communication, and even laundry lines. It was fielded in June 2009"

In some case, wooden struts are used

You can't never underestimate the power at the finger tips of H.P. If there is a reference he will find it and share it. Those are nice looking pic Fenchy. I'll be saving them as well for similar project someday.

ohhh my baby!!!!! I so miss her. A great stead. Those wire mit kits should be very easy to make with some plastic rod and pieces of balsa. All they were on our trucks was 2x4 lengths of mahogany wood and PVC Pipe attached to a piece of rebar welded on the front bumper.

I have only ever been in the Plus and the Dash. The principal differences are all in the suspension and some of the armor. The interiors are essentially the same. I do believe there is a difference in the rear passengers side interior, something to do with the hydraulic pump for the doors hydraulics but I cannot be certain. Otherwise essentially the same wiht minor mods as far as interior.
