I started with the new Object 268 from Trumpeter. I added a Barrel for the 14,5 AA gun and will use the Masterclub tracks for it:

Yes and a two part Barrel. But I used it, because it´ll take some time before RB will bring a turned Barrel.

I painted the Stones. First a yellow primer, then I drybrush the Stones in Grey. After that I painted single Stones in different Grey tones: So it´s 50 shades of Grey now:

Looking pretty good. Even if it is a "what-if", the details of US items are wrong for 1960. The MRE box, M16A2, and M240B MG are all mid-late '90s and beyond items. None of them were around in 1960. Also, the plastic water can you have painted green wasn't available until the late '60s to early '70 and only came in black at that time. It should not have rust either since it is plastic, not metal.

For 1960 US items, you could swap them out for a C-Ration box, M1 Garand or M14 rifle, and an M1919A4 or M60 MG. A metal water or fuel can would also be more appropriate.

A couple other items are off too. There were no 5-gallon plastic water bottles, 1 liter plastic water bottles, nor 1 liter plastic Coke bottles in 1960 either.

Your Soviet figures and weapons are more modern (1990s) as well.

If you call it an alternate universe scene where the timeline is different, you would be more correct.
