Hi Everyone.
It has been a long time since I posted a model up here so .
I have built this model using the Meng Leopard 1a3Kit also parts to correct it from the leopard 1A5 as well as leopard club bits.
Painting .
Well, I was lucky to have some REAL West German Olivegelb colour also some ROCO model paint of the same colour and they match really well. Has you can see on the model , the plastic sheet behind the model is done in both paints side by side no difference the hull is painted in original and turret in Roco paint, then it was painted in vallejo and artist pastel chalks .
Then finally dust from a real Tank i collected last week.
Just got get two figures for the model.
hope you enjoy and please comment thanks
Ossie

Really nice work on your Leopard and the base!
My only suggestions would be first to replace the antennas with straighter versions. As well, perhaps show some of the Hoffman Device tubes loaded with the wires running the rear of the device. Finally maybe add a touch of additional colour to the base with a road side sign.

HI jason
Thank you for the kind comment really appreciated.
to answer your ideas
I accidentally caught the aerials when I was taking the pictures as they are the ones from leopard club kit.
I have looked at the pictures in books and what I have of the Hoffman device and can only see the one cable which I have fitted running into the mantel. But the one i copied has only got the one cable going to the mantel as per the model.
I was going to put a road side marking post, but when I looked at pictures of a side road and also tank range road there was none. But there was a sign NATO LARGUE on the other side.
It is based on a picture and it supposed to be on a road like going to Hohne ranges .
if i could find a way of covering it with branches i would.
thanks
ossie

Here's what the Hoffman looked like loaded. Note the white charges and the electrical cables running to the rear of the device.

Hi Ossie, Hope you are well.
Love your model, the paintjob and weathering are bob on
I agree with Jason about a roadsign - it would bring the scene to life if there was something like an Ortschild...
Not sure if this is of any use, but I've used this before and printed the decals...

hi all
thank you all for the input , i am looking at a sign but need a range sign. i remember the rang road around Hohner this is what it is based on . What i cant find is images of any of the range signs i.e. Range 1A , does any one have pics of signs on that road , idea is a lost tank next to a road sign or a german TAC sign
thanks
Ossie

Ossie - you've given me an idea for one of my kits as I have often thought about putting some of my kits on bases...
If you need any signs making up, let me know. I have the DIN1451 Mittelschrift font that is used on German Roadsigns
Here's some more from the Panzer Ring...

Why not just turn the tank around on the base?

I beg your pardon, but with a Leopard you drive where ever you want!
As for the sign, you might want te search for "einbahnstrasse" (one way street) with a "Sonderschild für Fahrbahnbreiten" (max allowed wide) for a combination for your road.

Sam.

Your Leopard is very well done.
If your tank is lost, you might have an older person with a bicycle pointing the way. Or an amused (or not so amused) MP.

Hi Everyone
Well i been working on the model to correct my mistake, i still have a bit more to do but i found some pictures of tanks traveling along a road outside a village just like my model.
so now it is a single carriage way running between corn fields. hope you like it so far .

The correct German designation is Feldweg or Flurbereinigungsweg.
