Can anyone offer a primer on scenery for a vietnam diorama. What materials would be best for replicating jungle vegetation?

I just bumped the dio "Low Level Hell" to the top. Check out that one to give you ideas and inspiration as it is one of the very best I've seen.

Yeah,...that duo was very well done.

I still would like a basic tutorial on how to do jungle foliage.

Maybe someday.

I found the book Terrain Modelling by Richard Windrow to be an excellent source for foliage techniques and sources. It's part of the Osprey Masterclass series.

Some very effective jungle scenes have been reproduced by using selected aquarium plants. Also I have a tutorial on making palm trees from all florist products. PM me for more. I can assure you that as a member of the Spec War teams on the rivers that grey and red clay was very evident and river banks were defoliated up to 1000 yards from either side. Check out these sites;
www.warboats.org and www.seafloat.org for photos

I have used aquarium plants for many Nam dios.
They work very well,just need paint to take the plastic look away.Go to your local pet store ,like Pet Smart and there is a huge selection.
