Well , Vicious -

This pic from one of those forums answers a primary question of mine for building this scene ..

What the springs look like under zero compression .
This one pic of one fully dismounted is gold

What if you jacked it from the spare tire mount (after you took the spare off)?

Maybe these rectangle openings are the jack lifting points?

That's what I was asking about in the beginning .

You would need to remove the armored cowling to get the jack up against there ,
That one looks like it has pretty permanent hinges at the bottom to allow you to swing it down but it would still be in the way .

These type appear to be easier to remove completely : ?

EDIT -- no they have the same hinges ,, that one is just open at the bottom

It puts the jack it a funky , far away position ....

I have a feeling that those slots are more to do with air flow

.. IDK , I'm going to bed

Guys,
Just like a modern car, the Sdkfz 222's strongest part is it's frame. If you try to jack up a modern car by the passenger compartment you may tweak something that might cause a door to close improperly.

Likewise if you lift the 222 by a location other than the frame, and you tweak it, the turret might not turn, or the hatches might not close.

Luckily, the frame of the 222 is mostly easily accessible.

Best wishes,

Gaz
