I have been a little side tracked for the moment .One of my daughters bought me a Lego
Ferrari for Christmas .So I have been away building that ,There is something quite therapeutical
about building lego ,this was classed as an expert level and it took about a week to finish it.
Now as ever I am faced with the problem of where do I put it
But I must say I am surely tempted to take it all apart and do it again.
One thing is you definitely cannot build it without the instructions.

Very nice build there. This seems to be quite a huge kit. How many litres of paint have you used^^.

I was so taken by the theroputical nature of building the Lego Ferrari.I stripped it all down and did it again.I didn't want to strip it down again so what I did was to cover it in cling film and put it in the display case.No doubt I will break it all down and do it again.Any way for the present I have got it out of my system and it really is time to get on with the load.

The first thing I notice about this kit is that the plastic it is made of is very thin and therefore brittle.
It would seem to have the smallest pieces I have ever encountered in a model kit, some of the pieces are tiny. So a lot of care is needed when cutting off pieces as they don't just jump they disappear from view and if any tiny piece were to fall on the shaggy pile I don't have much confidence I will ever see it again.

I think you will find that Accurate Armour are now distributors for Live resin.

Good start on the M109A6 Paladin. It is a great kit. Here is a build review I did of it a while ago. It has a few things that need to be improved upon or fixed, but not much.

Slowly, slowly , it begins to take shape. As the vehicle will be on the back of the HET the gun nozzle will be tied down by the clamp and all hatches closed. That's the plan anyways. There sure is a lot of parts to this kit.

Gun nozzle and clamp??? No idea what those are on an M109A6 Paladin howitzer. I think you mean the barrel will be held in place by the travel lock.

A couple of cabbage crates hung on the old bake plum of the taxi rank opposite end to the bang stick.

For the aerials I used two pieces of fibre optic cut from a display table lamp.

And here it is sitting on the back of the trailer. And it sure is big.

Looking really good. The Paladin is turning out nicely. It looks good on the truck. Will the Paladin also be in NATO camo and what markings are you going to use on it? It would be most accurate to mark it as one of the FA Bns from 1 AR Division out of Germany at the time based on the SFOR (Stabilization FORce, Bosnia-Herzegovina Dec '95 - Nov '96) markings on the truck. The 1 AR artillery units are 2-3 FA, 4-27 FA, and 4-1 FA.

On another note, the markings on the hood of the cab are reversed. When looking from the front, the 3 COS T 181 (3rd COrps Support command, 181 Transportation Battalion out of Germany) decal should be on the left and 377T T 211 (377 Transportation Company, Truck 211) decal should be on the right. The higher unit is always on the left and the lower one on the right.

Ahh !
Perfectly simple!
Read from left to right, first the higher/enclosing unit and then the nitty-gritty details on the right side
Obvious!
Now it's just a matter of being able to figure out what all the abbreviations mean, which unit is which sort of .....

Great build ! I finished the Hobbyboss HET and trailer a few months ago and I am amazed at how similar the two kits are in execution. I guess Hobbyboss might have used the Accurate kit as a guide.

Well in my head at the moment is to use up the paint I have left and paint it in the NATO colours.
As regard the decals I have not even look at or considered what it will be .That's to come.
For a brief while I may deviate and introduce yet another kit into the arena and pursue that for awhile.
There will be a lot of going back and revisiting detail yet to be added on all three items. Still lots to do.

Yes the AA kit is 3 times the price of the Hobbyboss one.
I'm not in a position to compare which is better or otherwise
but I'm glad to have built the AA one.
I don't suppose that I will ever build the Hobby boss one not unless I win the lottery and buy a museum. Space in my house now is a premium and any future projects will be based upon what I'm prepared to chuck away to make room.

Going to break away from the main builds and do a bit of accessories and a bit of undercoating. See if I can use a useful amount of these accessories .I've had them lying about for some time now so its daylight for the rucks.

Good set of accessories. Just don't use the louvered CIP squares for a pre-OIF (2003) vehicle. They were not used before then.

First job is to undercoat everything .I learnt a long time ago that whatever paint I use to leave it for 24 hours before I touch it again. works for me.
undercoat will be Mig ammo acrylic.
