Hi Russ,
thanks for your answer! I'm more then thankful for your information!
You are right! I mixed it up! The M60A1 RISE Passive had arrived in B K September or October 1976!!!!!
I had build an M60A1 in MASSTER camo at least 6 years ago, in the livre of 2-11 CAV.
Using the Italeri/ESCI kit requiring some additional hours to correct the models faults. And these were quite some.
I added the link to the model on the website of Modellbauteam Düsseldorf, I'm a member with!

Additionally I added a link to my Norwegian M48A5, I had build four years ago.

Using the Academy M48A5 kit, it was a "pain in the ass" correcting the faults, but finally it made a nice kit. The airbrushing was quite time consuming!
I'm sorry but the descriptions of of the modeling sequences of both models are in German. But a picture will tell more as a thousand words!
Have fun.

Greetings!
I really can't add to this other than to say how many great memories this has helped re-surface. I started at Ft. Knox on the M60A1s, both standard as well as the Rise Passive - which refers to the engine - Rise - & Passive, which refers to the sights. These memories may be off somewhat & if so, I apologize. I had tanks with both Top Loading & Side Loading Air Cleaners - TLAC/SLAC. I then transitioned to the M60A3. When I was assigned to Europe in 1983, I arrived at Fulda (D-Co, 1/11 ACR) just in time to see the M60A1s leave and we troops went to Graf (Vilsek) and transitioned to the early M1s. The 11th Cav was the 1st Cavalry unit in Europe that fielded the M1 Abrams. At that time, our Squadron Commander was LTC John N. Abrams, sometimes affectionately known as "Son Of Tank." I went to M1 Master Gunner school in 1987-88 then was transferred to C-Trp. When I finally left the 11th in Dec. 1990, I went to Ft. Riley with the 4th Cav then immediately off to Desert Storm. Once there we received brand-new M1A1 Heavies.
I enjoyed my time in M60s & even the one month at Ft. Drum in an M48A5. Those old beasts are still giving me fond memories.
