Hi all. Getting back into some modelling after not dabbling for a long time. This will be my first 1/35th armor model so I have started with something small and relatively simple. I picked up this academy kit today
Will hopefully get started tomorrow, its a good looking kit and has some positive reviews too. Will keep track of my progress and hopefully be able to ask any questions or get some tips here along the way.
Thanks guys.

Welcome Mitchell,
That's great, I now build the model to the campaign. The model is cool just a pity that you can not do open the front viewfinders, and I do not want to make major modifications.
Enjoy the hobby.

So I got my kit underway today, didn't take me too long to warm up.
Not a bad looking kit at all, good quality, with clear instructions. Just my scalpel and glue to get me through.
Lower hull knocked up nicely and didn't take too long.

Wheels,rollers and sprockets knocked up.
Suspension and running gear fitted up too.
Everything went together really nice, pretty straightforward so far, the mud scraper on the rear sprocket was a bit if a pain but I got it in the right angle in the end.
Looking forward to hopefully finishing it off tomorrow.

Just finished mine today. Great little kit. Don't be afraid to leave the fenders and upper hull off until painting is done. The fenders, 4 fender supports and upper hull fit perfectly after painting.
Enjoy

Enjoying the progress so far! This kit is on my "bucket list," will get around to it eventually. I still have the old CMK kit partially finished, actually both the original issue as well as the upgraded one with resin & PE parts, and turned brass barrels. One of these days I'll finish it...

Thanks Crossracer, glad you knocked yours over, how did it come out? I may need some inspiration with the painting if you are doing yours.
Oddball, Thanks, it has been fun and kept me busy for 4-5hrs so I can't complain.
Garrand, you'll have to make up your own mini armor squadron at this rate!.

Bit more progress this afternoon.
Upper hull on with accessories attached.
And some more accessories, I went all out with the Operation Barbarossa options as I believe it shows this tank like a bit more of a little guy ready to try and put up a big fight.
Got the turret done too.
All mounted up.
I have the hatch closed on the cupola just to help hold the viewports and plates in place until they set properly, they were a bit of a pain to get perfect.
Just need to knock the tracks up and get them ready to go on.
Will have to go and get myself an Airbrush kit next day off I have, will get some practice in on some scraps and then try to do something good with this.
I have done a little painting before but not really vehicles and not really this detailed so it should be a challenge.
Will keep you posted, cheers guys.

Nice job on this! I have built the CMK kit and it's a dog...but I did use a Schatton Modellbau Main Gun and it did improve the look of the kit. I have the Tamiya 35(t) in the stash...I think it's just the CMK kit with some new sprues. I like this Academy kit. The moldings look crisp. I can't wait to see what you do with the painting and weathering. Good Job.

Thanks mate. It has been a good kit, I grabbed it because it seemed simple enough to build without too much stress so I am glad it turned out to be pretty detailed and well built.
I'm looking forward to painting it, will just be doing the dunkelgrau with a bit of dusting around the road wheels and tracks and maybe a little weathering to the lower hull, and some fine dusting.

And construction is finally complete. A about 6-7 hrs work in total, not too bad for a first go I dont think. I really enjoyed the build and I'm happy with the result. Will get some paint on it ASAP. Then ill have to decide what to build next. Some photos anyway...
Thanks for having a look, C&C welcome...

Finished my Airbrushing but havent done my detail work yet. Happy with how it came along, being my first kit and my first ever go at Airbrushing.
Hard to get a good photo without proper lighting and only using my phone.
The highlights look a lot lighter than they do in person, im confident with the details picked out, a wash, and details, it will be broken up and become more dimensional and tie in better.
Thanks for the interest so far

Thanks Colin.
Unfortunately my kids and their cousins thought it would be a good idea to play with it after being told not to, they tried to close the commanders and drivers hatches and broke both of them off, will be a quick repair job at least. will get around to the weathering and finishing soon when I have a few days off.
