The accompanying description states it's a rebox -- an Italeri re-pop maybe?

Here in OZ
I call a rebox a Sh%tbox
Especially with the price tags that some of these Sh&tboxes come with
And don't tell me it comes with two PE parts,a plastic figure and tell me its upgraded!!!
Rant over...............unless it gets worse

"an Italeri re-pop maybe? " Definitely yes -- without a question.

With the recent bizarre currency fluctuations this may actually be cheaper then the Italeri boxing. IIRC Italeri did do a boxing with photo etch so there may even be less new about this other than the figure.

That would be Italeri #6445 that has the PE and resin parts. From what I read it lacked the the engine air vents (both sides) in front of the the driver's position. I'd rather have this detail in place as Tamiya's improvement over an extra figure.

OK, so which is it in your case? Do you think you are owed a new mold kit or is the problem that they are charging more than you want to pay?

This may be aimed to Japanese market, being cheaper than an Italeri kit brought from abroad...
I built the 234/1 and my conclusion was that depending on the price tag, it would be worth or not.

These molds are well traveled. I have the kit #35-004 by Historic in my stash. I also have an Eduard set and a Part etch set for it. I think I will build the one I got before rushing out to buy the repop of this kit. I am curious to see what the new kit will have in it. I picked up mine at a show second hand about 10 years ago for $10.

The Historic/HiPM kit is NOT the same as the Italeri/Tamiya. It is not as good a kit, either.
