Don't get too excited; wait until they are actually about to release as Trumpeter doesn't always deliver the goods.

Us plane builders have been waiting over a decade for the Devastator torpedo bomber.

Hi, Shell!

Re: The TBD-1 Devastator- Which scale? If you're into 1/48, GREAT WALL HOBBY makes an EXCELLENT kit of the TBD-1, specifically, of VT-8 "Torpedo 8", Midway, 1942, kit# L4807. They also make a much rarer Seaplane version with Twin Floats.

I've built the Midway kit, and enhanced the detail with the 2 EDUARD PE kits, FE600 TBD-1 Interior Pre-painted (self-adhesive) and 48735 TBD-1 (exterior). The kit contains it's own PE, which I used in conjunction with the aforementioned EDUARD PE sets. The EDUARD PE sets add quite a little bit of "extra oomph" to an already EXCELLENT KIT! I also added SAC Metal Landing Gear Struts.

The kit also features Paint Masks for the Clear Parts, and Stencils for the National Insignia, in case you don't want to use the National Insignia on the Decal Sheet. Markings for 2 Devastators are included on the Decal Sheet. featuring the Aircraft of sole-survivor ENS George Gay, and Squadron Commander LCDR John C. Waldron.

This kit was an ABSOLUTE JOY to build, super-detail, paint and weather. It makes a valuable addition to my 1/48
"Midway Collection", which features a representative of each type of Aircraft that saw action in that epic battle- That means, US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Army Air Force and Japanese Aircraft, as well...

As far as plastic models are concerned, 1/48 Aircraft are my first and foremost love. Running a VERY CLOSE second, are my HO "high-end" brass and multi-media Steam-era Locomotives, "Limited" Passenger Trains, and a nice assortment of 1910s-late 1940s Freight Equipment. My 1/48-120mm Figures come next, then my 1/24 and 1/25 Classic Cars (1920s-early 1970s), and 1970s 1/25 Modified Dirt Race Cars come next, followed by my 1/35 stuff, and lastly, my 1/144-1/350 Ships. All this keeps my life interesting, not to mention my scenic photography. Someday, I'll break down and buy a digital camera, so that I can share my work with you guys!

After five years, let alone ten, shouldn't people just get over it and move on to what has been released?

Only logical! M1083 FMTV truck plus MLRS rocket pods plus new cab and launcher = M142 HIMARS. Another planned scratchbuilt to erase from the list.

I am looking forward to the M142 HIMARS and M270A1 MLRS. They should be really nice. For the HIMARS, the cab is already available as it should be the same cab as in their M1078 Armored Cab kit. Yup, one less scratch build.

Both look very similar, but the HIMARS cab and the Low Signature Armored Cab (LSAC) as used in cargo FMTVs are not the same.

I'd really like to see Trumpeter do a T-72A or -AV someday, especially for people that want to model current events. Unless trumpeter already has and I just missed it...

Can anyone see what kind of tank is above the BMPT-72? It looks like a Russian vehicle.

Wonderful to see T-80UD, T-80U, T-80UM1 Bars, T-14 Armata, T-90MS 2013, SADF Rooikat 8x8. Two kinds of T-84

Oh Boy, I can now start saving for a few of the models that are n the Catalog. Let's hope that the wait is not too long in the future.

Hi, Shell!

Re: The TBD-1 Devastator- Which scale?

They promised one in 1/32, which is the preferred scale for us guys at largescaleplanes.com.

No one else makes one; like Obi Wan, they were our only hope.

The T-84 Oplot looks great to me! I wonder if this will shake loose the one that's supposed to be coming from Xact scale?

I likes the T80 serie!!! They list a T80UM but it looks T80UM1 , a dream to see this in plastic.

Agree a T72 AV is needed, next year perhaps

Hi, Kurt!

AGREE, especially after our numerous posts regarding the negative likelihood of "all-new, state-of-the-art" WWII/US/Allied subjects in 1/35 ever being released...

Hi, John!

AGREE, especially since I'm one-half Ukrainian!

I wouldn't look for the X-ACT T-84 Oplot in the near future...

Hi Dennis, if Xact scale is still in business, maybe this kit announcement will motivate them to release their kit
