As a matter of fact I think the answer is yes! I mean really Dennis, did you ever think we would see the Object 279 in plastic? or the Conqueror, t-24, T-18, a new tool T-35/T-28. How about the T29 series, or the US T54, or how about the Hobbyboss Vickers series? I could go on and on about kits I never thought we would see in plastic, what a wonderful time to be an armor modeler!

Unfortunately I believe Denis to be quite correct. If there ever happened to be an eccentric billionaire or somebody similar who started a model company that produced only what modellers wanted, it's my betting that one of two things would happen:

1. They would go out of business because modellers spat the dummy when their favourite vehicle wasn't the first one released or

2. They would go quietly mad because of the "boo birds" criticising every rivet despite the manufacturer's best efforts!

Of course, there may be a military security reason for the absence of some kits as well. I well recall I think it was Renwal who produced a very good model of a US nuclear missile submarine with full cutaway interior back in the 60s. When the US authorities found that the majority of purchases ended up in the Russian embassy, the kit was withdrawn from sale in very short order!

Having said all that, I'd STILL like a decent Bergepanther!

Hi Dennis, I'm sorry, I was really not trying to provoke you and I am truly sorry if you felt that way, I was actually trying to, well...cheer you up! I just thought that looking at all the kits that have been released lately that weren't German might put a positive spin on things for you.

You said: "Many of you need to realize that the model manufacturers are driven by a desire to take our money. They produce what they perceive to be "popular" subject matter..." well if you want to change what they consider "popular" than we have to speak up! So since we opened the can of worms already so hop on board have some fun and give us your list too!

I'd also like to add the Ram MK 1 to my list while were at it!

Now Dennis, I hate to argue but I really don't think anyone is "forcing" you to explain or to be involved or, as you put it, "open your mouth." We realize that much of this stuff will most likely not come to fruition in the near future, if at all, but the only person who's really pointing this out is you, Dennis. We realize that there's a good probability that next week, instead of announcing a new M1IP, Dragon will most likely announce the 5th Tiger 1 to roll off of Dusseldorfs production line at 10:45:2.5 in the morning on Jan. 5, 1943 and it was commanded by the great Colonel Joachim Klink-Stein.

Instead of chiding the wishlist of someone who hopes to see their favorite vehicles one day enshrined in plastic (for example: "Do you guys REEEEALLY think that any of these "wish-things" will ever come to fruition..? Seriously..?", "Boy, you guys have got some reeeally high hopes and expectations...") why not just simply post up your list of vehicles you'd like to see (I know you already did, I'm just waxing philosophic here). No one here so far has said to anyone else "Shut up, we've had enough of you," or "We know already," or "'There goes (insert name) again with his M8 HMCs, M18s, etc, etc!!!'" Nobody has said that... At all.

Like I said, we all realize that except for a few subjects, much of the listed items are doomed forever to be but nice dreams that are stowed and continually hoped for (and scratch built so that a company WILL make it) because, like Robin said: "We're having fun dreaming and hoping though but, who knows, maybe some manufacturer gets an idea or two ...."
