I never heard back from anyone when I asked about doing a build review. Is this still being considered or was I passed over and not informed? Hmmm.
Hi Frank,
The usual route in fort a new guy is to start by doing a review of something you already have in your stash and submitting it. That way we can see your writing and photography skills. The editors will be helpful if major work is needed, or if it's only minor tweaks we just do 'em ourselves to get the review ready. Once you get a review published, it starts your "track record" and puts you in the running for samples!
In between any samples I tend to do reviews of old obscure stuff (like old Italeri kits) from my over-large stash if there isn't a decent online review out there already. The way I figure it, the kit might be "old news", but somewhere there's another modeller deciding whether to get one they've seen on a shelf, and they can use a good review that at least shows them what's in the box...
Have a look at some reviews here to get a handle on our preferred heading structure, and image sizes. (I tend to crop mine to 1600x1200 pixels since the jpegs are only around 150kb in size...)
Hope this helps, and that we will see some reviews from you in the future!
