Thanks guys,
Oops sounds like you got as electrified as the horse Stefan - if I ever attempted shooting this dio at night it could look like there were swarms of fireflies everywhere.
Agreed Jerry my G-M 1’s old tool - although the G-M 2 claims to handle 12mm = half inch lengths…can’t help smiling that they warn anyone with a pacemaker needs to be “careful” using it. The mind boggles, talk about falling down on the job.
As for this site’s slow-down, maybe it’s northern-hemisphere Spring blues - or Spring-let’s-get-outdoors-already? Down Under it’s got decidedly autumnal and the chances of getting a wind-less sunny day this weekend for photography are looking slim. Offerings to the weather gods pending

I've wanted a Gras-master for some time, ever since I saw some of the youtube demonstrations, it beat the heck out of hand dropping grass or using a static-y ballon to try to get that look, so yeah,
If I ever get a dollar I'll buy one.

So this is what it was all for, the final set of photos…well almost. By prior consultation and mutual agreement with the Editor, there are a number of images not published here due to their unsuitability for younger viewers. It’s a privilege to be a member of this site and their rules are what I/we play by, so no complaints. But all is not lost, please read on…
There was a simple storyline to the sequence, alas somewhat disjointed now due to the redacted images of close-ups of the car (oh the irony): partisans hiding in back of the cart as the car approaches to overtake; the ambush sprung, then a search through documents/maps in the car to glean intelligence. The kid’s kept at a distance as a lookout on the cart, he and his father are not willing participants but coerced…German reprisals against the local populace were common.
For those who do want to see the complete set, permission has been given for this link (with apologies for the risible first screen):

The journey of this dio began as a whine about a plastic kit, but ends – as far as I’m concerned – as a remembrance of all victims of extremist politics. Whether they believed in them or not, they all died for insane reasons. In this vignette, the only likely survivor of the Great Patriotic War was the horse.
Thanks for checking in one more time. Giddyap dobbinskaya…

Hi Tim - this looks great and the outdoor pics! Nice touch - Congratulations on a great build - your effort with the grass and scenery (in addition to all else) was clearly worth it!

This turned out very well indeed ! The level of modeling is only trumped by the level of photography IMHO,
One of those B&W pics could easily pass for a newsreel still from 1944.

Thank you gentlemen,
I was somewhat taken aback at the speed of your kind comments - & 600+ views in less than 24 hours?? so much for site slow-down! Actually truly I’d only give myself 7 out of 10, I had some extra features in mind but just ran out of energy - nothing to do with the censorship, I was content about that. I guess y’all know that deflationary feeling when the finish line comes into sight, that’s what it was like.
So probably a good thing I’m going dark for a few weeks, family matters & vacation back in Blighty, flying over in a few days time. Too busy to sort out the final Ponyri photo-feature now so I’ll post that late May – around my first anniversary of joining this site, what a great ride!
Best wishes to all
