1/35 scale figures too large for vehicles?

I've been thinking (careful this is very dangerous) for a long time that 1/35 scale figures are way out of scale with the 1/35 scale armor. They look more like 1/32 or 1/30 scale figures. compared with reference material. for example...a Tiger I commander's body only occupies about half of the cuppola opening. When you buy a kit the kit figure is too large. It's even worse with resin figures. I know tamiya figures that come with the Kuebel or Schwimmwagon are much smaller than the Armored kit figures. It may seem trivial but it really bugs me. So sue me!

Interesting point, Bodeen. I have Model Victoria's Topolino and one of their standing tank commanders. The man in the Topolino is somewhat smaller in scale than the standing tanker. But, hey, not everyone is exactly the same size.

Your right !
But there are also some that are done correctly to scale.
...I wish there was some way a message could be sent to these
manufactures, to come up with a " No tolerance" limit on 1:35 so
that figures, armor , & equipment are all produced to this limit.
Not only are they out of scale with armor sometimes, but even the
equipment & weapons varies greatly !

If not 1/32 I would surmise that Verlinden is actually 54mm, the typical size for individual figures. Pretty damn close to 1/32, and makes for really big, buff guys. That's great, I suppose, if all you model are the variations on Napoleon's Curassiers of the Imperial Guard with those impressive bearskin hats.....
