I'm deployed as a civilian contractor out here at Ft Riley (home of the Big Red One).

I noticed that there seems to be two colors of sand that the equipment is painted.

It appears that some of the armor is painted in more tan/brownish version of sand where as the newer vehicles (LMTVs, etc) are a bright, almost yellowish sand.

Is this bright yellow sand color a newer version? If so, what's the FS or Model Master/Tamiya equivalent?
