I have been visiting the FSM site and their policy is to allow politico-religious discussions in their open (off topic) board. Recently, several threads have been opened up on religion and instantly someone chimed in "I'm saved , you're damned " and no hilarity ensued. This site's insistence that we focus on history or modeling or arts & entertainment is a very good policy.
Mods and administrators, keep up the good work.

I found their site is beginning to be filled with "fluff". Heck there had to be about 100 posts worth of "we're catching the aircraft forum in number of posts" posts. Add to the fact that half of the first page (in the armor forum) is dedicated to group build sticky topics, there isn't much to peruse on their forum.

I tend to be a "lazy" poster. I rarely go into a second page of a thread or second page of a forum (like on M-L or FSM).

I'll agree with that. I'd guess for every 25 posts here I have 1 or 2 elsewhere.

I feel the same way as you guys. When you look at their site numbers, it's impressive. With over 30,000 registered users you would think there would be some posts of worth. It takes too much time to sift through their otherwise "off-topic" posts to get any "meat".

No hilarity ensued? Al, you been hanging out at Fark.com? LOL.
I am registered over at FSM but haven't posted once. Just perused the forums a couple of times and didn't really see that much of interest.
Oh, and my hat's off also to the mods and admins here. It must be a lot of extra work and I think they do an outstanding job.

Ken,
I am pretty sure from info they had posted that all their subscribers got automatically added as "registered users". I assume they sent out emails for those subscribers they had emails for to let them know.

Yup. I am even now in a penthouse suite on the 19th floor of the Century Plaza hotel in Century City.

I can't go 3 days without my Armorama. hehe

What a dirty cheap way of bloating numbers!

I know what you mean Jim. I did the same thing when I was in Spain on vacation.

Well, I personally come here to talk models, and building models.
I go some where else to talk religion, politics, or anything off topic.
Although I may expose my strange sense of humor at times.
