Hello fellow modellers. This is my first post here... my apologies in advance for any messup with picture uploading.
This is what I'm currently working on: Zvezda's old BT-7 kit, which I think dates back to mid nineties. I thought it was a fun challenge to see what could be done with this old beast.. The only aftermarket is a new barrel. Mesh and chain is from bitz box. The whole thing did cost me affordable 20 euro. But a lot more working hours...
The model was painted with model master acrylics and weathered with artist's oils and different pigments and stuff.

Thanks for watching
Cheers
Carl

excellent!! great job painting and weathering! because of budget constraints I get older kits @ contests (mostly Tamiya, some Dragon, Academy, etc.; I built the old 1/35 Emhar Mk. IV tank some years ago; picked up another one recently); IMHO you have proved older kits can be made to look very cool with work and patience; again, very nice job!

Thanks for the response guys!

Brian: I like to build some old italeri kit or some old heller aircraft kit from time to time. It reminds me of the feeling I had when I was a kid and started building scale models. I'm very fond of Italeris Jeep variants. Chunky olive drab plastic...

Álvaro: will you go with the tracks in the kit? It is a well known fact that they are too long to fit properly, but it is easily solved by shorten the tracks by one link. I hid the "asymmetry" with two links without teeth behind the drivesprocket at the rear. See pic:

Hello again fellow modellers,
Please let me present the finished model. I made a simple base from plaster. To keep the "OOB-theme" I used the figures included in the kit.

Thanks for looking!
All the best

Everything does sure looks great.Even though there are problems with this kit using a little T.L.C. and time it is amazing what can be done with a older kit.

A very nice model, with a realistic weathering in my opinion. Well done!
