I noticed that all the M1151s around here at Ft Riley KS have different mirror placements than the kits out there.
The kits have the mirrors attached to the window frames, but all the new production M1151s around here have the mirrors attached to the frame, and lower on the drivers side.
I can believe talking scarecrows and wizards in great emerald cities, but I refuse to believe there is no paperwork involved when your house lands on a witch.

Thank you for pointing this.
Indeed Academy M1151 but also all other humvee kits in different versions and from different manufacturers have the same placement for the two side mirrors.
A pic of my M1151 Academy. I have changed the placement of the left mirror, just to make the model different.
I wonder why the driver mirror is lowered.

With the mirror up high, it blocks a lot of visibility. I have seen some of the older ones with mirrors up high but move down when it goes for maintance.
