These Dragon Elite Police/SWAT sets are pretty nice. I have seen quite a few very nice dios with them using modern and older military vehicles (as many SWAT do) or with 1/32 emergency vehicles, cars, trucks, etc. They are very useful if you use your imagination.

With Live-Resin, one can update the DML LAPD and NYPD figures. It won't be cheap, but one can add new torsos, pouches, helmets, and weapons either from their parts sets or by salvaging an entire Live-Resin figure.

None of those are mine, I just found them on the net. I did use some of their police/SWAT figures for a room raid shadow box style scene, but don't have any pics of it and it is currently in storage.

As to updating them, you wouldn't have to spend a bunch of money on Live-Resin sets as most SWAT don't have the very latest stuff. Some of the older Dragon IBA torsos and new weapons would do the job nicely.

I have this set and have a dio I've been working on for a while now. The figures are very good for the time they were released and probably would even make it to todays standard for mold injection sets. The weapons are real nice and the inclusion of the 6 volt battery is cool. I really should just finish it up and get some pic's here to show what a dio builder can do with them. Mine is a hostage stand off in a under ground parking area/freight delivery area. I still would like to p/u the L.A. P.D. set to complement this one.

The L.A.P.D. set was recently re-released and should be available.

The BLAST MODELS 1/35 PMCs Number 2 would probably be a better match for today's modern S.W.A.T. teams.

The lack of any "bad Bubba" type figures has always been a problem with these sets. It's not really that hard to modify military or some civilian figures into bad guys or gals. Use a little Milliput fine grain to modernize the clothing and modify the parts so the figures so the'll "assume the position".

Ummm, not quite correct. Most of your urban SWAT/HRT teams now use state of the art equipment as does the FBI. Usually the smaller the department, the better and more up to date the gear as they don't have to buy as much. But, like anything else the most important piece of equipment is what's protected under the helmet.
