Just recived this Dragon Stug III C/D, Dragon, smart kit. I'm puzzled by some details, there's a radio rack, on the back of the fighting compartment, leading to the motor room. The reference I have shows no such installation on the C/D version? Or is it just me not having the right reference?

You mean the two antenna storage rails? I believe only command tanks had both rails. The standard ones would only have them on one side...the driver's side if I'm not mistaken. As such, those vehicles also wouldn't have the radios in the sponson on the opposite side either, just empty space.

Thank you for your answer, Panzermeister, what I meant was that in the back of the fighting compartment, theres a radio rack, on the wall to the motor room?, I've never seen any photographic evidence on this, only on ,much later Stug's, I could be wrong?

Can you send a photo of exactly what it is in the kit?

AFAIK there was a rack for one radio fitted in the left side of the superstructure.
Dragon even calls it out in their product overview.

Marcb: Thank you very much, I read the answer, and now I'm even more confused, on the E version, there were more radios, there was an additional radio box on the right side, in the drivers direction, my references don't mention this, neither does any photograhic reference, of the extra radio rack on the firewall, in the C/D version, but thanks for your help

I sat down and checked the instructions very carefully. The set contains a lot of sprues from many different Dragon sets, Stug III G, plain panzer III ones and even one from Panzer IV, overall this means that a lot of the parts are NOT USED, only one contains new parts for the C/D version, the hull, where I was confused about, is from a Stug III F8 a version much later than the C/D. It's a mixed impression I'm left with, some really good casting on some parts, and an instruction with many questions. As a Stug III fan I would like to make a model as precise as I can, Dragon let me down here. Originally I would have bought the Bronco version, which I might do now.
