Great info Kylie. Complex uniform camouflage is always a challenge. Will this technique translate to 1/35? In any case, thanks

Interesting. Althogh I wonder the same as Bravo 36 if it will work on 1/35th. I will try it some time.

Hello Bravo36, zorrolobo, yes, I tried this first on some Hobbyfan figures; I found it easier to base coat, then airbrush on the other colours, without masking. I went back over the figure with a brush to add in the colours as needed. Hope this makes sense.

That depends on which uniform you are actually talking about. If you mean the original Cyre Multicam commercial patter, it did/does have more sand in it.
If you are talking about the pattern the US Army developed, OCP (Operational Camo Pattern), then it is mostly brown and green. It actually looks very similar to the old Woodland BDU pattern.
It looks like the figure is actually wearing Cyre Multicam, not OCP.

Yes, there are some more figures due out shortly which I intend to do in multicam, and will be altering the areas of brown & green on. Thanks for the feedback.
Or, I may try tiger-stripe.

The above is the older multi cam... The older uniform has the little flap pockets at the top of the velcro shoulder/patch areas. The latest uniform doesn't have this little flap. The older also has drawstrings hanging out of the cargo pockets..

Neither is Multi-Cam, both are OCP (Operational Camo Pattern). Multi-Cam was the name of the commercial pattern, not what the Army developed. The one on the left is the newer cut of the ACU (Army Combat Uniform), while the one on the right is the original ACU version, the same cut as the UCP (Universal Camo Pattern - digital grays) ACU.

Awesome guide can't wait to give it a try! I love the fact that the "new" uniform (pattern) is actually the prototype of what is now commercially referred to as "multicam!"

nice tutorial. the most complicated camo I've done were the late WWII german uniforms and the u.s. Desert Storm uniforms. This will be quite a challenge!
