Did all of the USMC AIMs have the umbrella holder on the turret? The pictures I have at home show them installed. I don't see these in Meng's instructions.

For A-stan all USMC M1A1s had belly armor, also the umbrella mount and DUKES, the loaders MG shield issued around 2011 if memory serves.
But not all tanks used the MG shields for whatever reasons.
Don't forget the additional two antenna pods on the rear right of the turret, PSM upgrade kit .... don't know if these are included in the MENG kit, all tanks in A-stan would have had them.
As with most things .... check your references, there are plenty out there.

Not all tanks in A'stan had the two extra antennas. These antennas were for the Air Liaison Officer or the Fire Support Officer. They were mounted on the CO's and XO's tanks only. The ALO would become the XO's loader and the FSO would be the CO's loader. The extra antennas were for the extra radios each of them needed to do their jobs.
