It may seem strange that the previous release was the self-propelled gun version nevertheless we now have the Hobby Boss kit of the T-18. Here we see further details and what is inside the box.

This is actually the third incarnation that Hobby Boss has released, the first was the T-18 MOD 1927. I believe this new version was also called the MS-1, the differences being the turret and the tracks (I think) Great news!

My bad John, I should have looked beyond the SU-18!
Here's what I've dug up with respect to the changes for the 1930 model:
http://www.army-guide.com/eng/museum_product471.html
It was proposed to re-arm the tank with a new 37-mm high-velocity gun, but the armament stayed the same. Despite this, the turret was redesigned with an addition of a rear square niche where a radio intended to be installed (in fact, some tanks didn't receive radio). This improved tank was named "MS-1 (T-18) Model 1930."

Until new designs could arrived, it was decided to try and improve the T-18, for instance by redesigning the track plates and idler wheels, increasing the engine power. Also the turret was given a rear rear boxlike bustle. This was called the "T-18 Model 1930", but it was just a small improvement. (Speed was still too slow.) Production was not halted until 1931, when the new T-26 was ready to take its place
Cheers,
Tat

No problem, thank YOU for bringing out the news of this release! It probably won't happen, but I would love to see some workable metal links for these vehicles. (and for the T-24 and the announced T-12 also)

Thanks for the heads up Wolfgang! I did not find any mention of the t-24 tracks on the Fruilmodel website, but a search produced a hit for Sector 35 metal tracks. They are pre-assembled, and very expensive (around 50-60 dollars)
I did find some that are un-assembled from an online shop for $26: Hobby.dn.ua but they show them as not in stock, and available 21-90 days after order. I wouldn't mind the waiting, but has anyone had dealings with this company, I have never heard of them before?

Have only used hobby.dn.ua once but there was no problem at all. The things I bought were in stock so can't comment on the availability part but the postage was reasonably priced and the items arrived in Australia in a timely manner. Communication was good too.

Great to hear, they take Paypal, so I feel pretty comfortable giving them a try.
