I have been searching everywhere for a 1/35 locomotive similar to the kriegslokomotive BR-52 that CMK offers in resin for about $400 USD or ANY German WWII locomotive for that matter. I'd love to find one in plastic that is affordable, but I have not had any luck.
I've thought about a scratchbuild. Do any of you model RR enthusiasts know what scale is equivalent to or at least close to 1/35?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think you need at least the size of a Dragon wagon with trailer and that's a small one. But i'm not sure. And as far as I know there aren't any other companies that produce a 1/35 locomotive, it's a shame because 400$ is way beyond an averyge budget.

Hi,
I've got that 75 series loc, and I must warn you: it is a lot of work! There is virtually no detail whatsoever in the engine house, and a lot of scratchbuilding is required to make something out of it. If you want, I got some pictures of the sole surviving engine which might help you building the monster

Hi Wouter,

I bought the kit at LSA models (the website seems to be out of the air) during my visit to Beltring a couple of years agou and I thought I payed somewhere around 150 pounds for it, but it is also for sale with Jordi Rubio of Spain for €107, -.
Anyone interested in teh pictures can PM me with their e-mail and I'll send them.

Offcourse you may, but an sole flatbed is looking pretty , well, lonely. An engine in front of would certainly add to the whole scen IMHO.

I would like to add to following;
I've had the engine from Baluard too but sold it a while ago. Besides a lot of work, bad fit of parts, missing details and a high price tag, the model isn't quite correct (according to the pictures I have it's a combination of different types). That was the reason I sold my engine. The amount of work it needed to correct it wasn't worth it to me !

Just my 2 cents,
Marc

I am not certain wether the kit is totally correct or not. I know the 75 was made by several companies, so that could just be the reason that they all seem to be different. But regarding to fit, etc: you're right.

thanks for all the info- I guess I will keep searching. I did read somewhere that Dragon is in the process of producing a plastic locomotive to go with its railroad pieces. Maybe that is one of the "secret" releases this year! One can only hope!
