Hi. Got a call from RZM Imports this morning saying that they are FINALLY getting 'The Modeler's Guide to the Tiger Tank' in tomarrow. Let's see I ordered this somewhere around 2+ years ago. I have an Academy Tiger kit out in the garage that has at least a half and inch of dust, grit, dirt, grime, and other assorted bits and pices of who knows what else on top of it just waiting just for this book. Now, unfortunately, I also have 6 or 7+ models in boxes under my bed that I'm having a hard enough time to get to build as well. Not to mention Trumpeter's K5 I got last summer that's 1/3 of the way done. That box is gathering quite a bit of odds and ends on it's top too.

Anyway, if anybody has been waiting for this book, it looks like it just MAY finally be coming out. Oh well, such is this hobby I guess. Can't imagine how look it will be before they bring out that Modeler's Guide to the Stug III. Wonder if I'll be on So-So security by then! Probably.

Take care, Sgirty

Yeah I think alot of people have had this one pre-ordered for a while. (me from Squadron) Mission Models began shipping them on Monday, Squadron just announced they are now shipping, and RZM said they will have them in tomorrow (2/26). Hopefully all of us who have ordered one will have them in our paint & glue stained hands soon!

Cheers,
Mike

Hi, Tazz. Mine is #1387 mid-production with interior. I forgot, I do have the turret done and some of the Cavalier Zimmerit on the body, but that's as far as it's progressed in around almost 2 years. Then, as I remember now, I couldn't get the decals to settle down on the Zimmerit on the turret sides, so I took them off and had decided to get some of those rub- on types, but never got around to doing it. And there it has set, gathering an un-godly amount of red primer dust and assorted other garage debris on it. It fact it wasn't until you asked, had the box ever been moved in the last year or so. Also found that I have some assorted interior pieces, engine and such, and had these in a separate container up in a cupboard out there too. So you could say this model is kind of scattered all over the place (which is not an unusual happening around here on a lot of things for me). Ha! I don't half Alltimers, but I do have Half-timers I think.

I've heard that this book is suppossed to be 'the thing' to have for Tiger models. Just hope it's been worth the wait. I do have the 'modeler's guide to the Sheman' they put out a few years ago, and it's worth getting. Just like to see them speed things up between the announcement of something and it's release. Well over 2 years or more is way to long a time gap I think.

Take care, Sgirty

Well, I called the place I had pre-ordered the book and they said it is at the printers! I guess by the time I actually receive the book, I'll be able to watch my grandson build my tiger(he is 6 weeks old)
