I gave up on Photo Bucket years ago.
They gave or sold my E mail address to every tom, dick and harry that they could find.
I was getting E mails from every thing to make your Boobs bigger to make your schlong longer.
I don't need this krap.
I store my Pics. that I post here on Micrasofts Cloud.
Regards.
Donald

You mean those products don't work ? I was sure they were all ligit companies ! Lol

New PB test.
 photo outside 001_zpsinsiemmd.jpg

Tom

Seems to be working.Had to play and play with the site and finally had to use PayPal to give them my money.Supposed to be AD free, but no such luck. For $60 it better work for a year. They really need a customer service line! But I guess they know how many complaints a human will get.

Thanks man,
And therein lies the rub. If I commit again to giving them money for another year, will the lousy service of late get any better ? Given that it is impossible to talk to a live human to try and fix anything,is it all worth the gamble ?

As posted above, PB are not allowing 3rd party hosting of images unless you pay a reiduculous amount of money. All of the images anyone has previously used to display on a forum have been suspended by PB who now request a payment to upgrade to their PB500 service. Only then can images be used elsewhere. I would imagine this is where your issue lies....

i just posted some photos two days ago in the aeroscale eto campaign. i had to use a different method than i did in the recent past but it worked....on the second try.
i have noticed it becoming more difficult to use it probably due to all the pop up adds which have also increased.

Jerry,
I've switched from Photobucket to Imgur about 2 years ago, because of all the troubles mentioned here with PB. I don't regret it. Check it out.

What's this about PB not allowing " 3rd party hosting of images "
That's pretty much the whole purpose of the site .

I haven't been affected by that -- just checked .

You guys that pay for PB can't contact anyone at PB either ??
WTH ?

That's what I mean by that -
I figured if you were a paying customer they would give you a contact .
I'm very aware there is no way to contact them for the free-riders

Paying customers do not get a contact as far as I know and I have been on their paying "customer" list for several years now! The real benefit is more storage space and no pop-ups!

p.s. There is a tech support web page where you can send text questions but so far I have used it only to send complaints when the site is down or not functioning so I have yet to ever get a reply.

You know things are really bad when it takes me five times longer to upload a figure image than it does to paint it! . . ... 🐌

Just got my extortion note from Photobucket yesterday - they have deleted all the images in my blogs over at Aeroscale and demanded $ 399.99 a year to reinstate them. Obviously I am looking for a new photo hosting site .Does anyone know the third party hosting policies of Imgur or Image Shack ? I have gone to their sites but cannot find contact info to ask them directly . Also, I hope the staff at Kitmaker Network will provide a way to edit blogs once they are up in order that all of us affected by Photobucket's new policy can repair the damage they have done.

Very dismayed- Richard

I haven't received that notice but there is no way I am paying 4 hundred bucks to link pictures ! Holy cow,how can they sleep at night ? I understand having to charge for a service but that is about 30 bucks a month just to have their boxes link pics to other boxes ? Nah

400 bucks ??!!
What ?!
Did they break down why ?
How many pix are you talking about ? 21 million ?

I guess I should prepare myself ...

EDIT - ah ! no need to prepare , it's too late to prepare .
It has happened and now it won't let me into my account .

Happy 4th everyone !

edit edit -- they want 6 bucks a month ( guess they haven't found my other account yet ,,, Sshhhhh )
K
It says I'm using .5 GB of the free 2 GB so the lowest plan offering of 52 GB should last me the rest of my life ?

I only had 56 photos on Photobucket, I was still reading 1% of space used on my free account, they have been locked out. no way I'm paying $400 to reinstate them, I'm lucky nobody is going to miss my photos. You should get ready Keith, I think I'm going to try Imgur!

$40 dollars per YEAR would be ok, but I think at the $400 cost they are just trying to get rid of the free "dead weight". It would be interesting to see the membership figures after this shakeup is over.

OK -
I just go and upload to Google Plus account ,
Create " collection " , set to " private "
and use new URL to post over at Scale Model Addict .

Works ! -- hopefully this is the easy fix .

... seems too easy , I'm sure I'll run into a catch -
hopefully not .

There is NO WAY I am going to attempt to go back and edit new pix into the old threads ,
Oh well - new beginnings ;-) ,,, or I just edit in a couple of pix a week .
Get it all cleaned back up by 2018

Just before all this went down, I seem to recall a grey survey pop-up would appear at login (lower RH screen) asking "How do you use Photobucket." I was wondering: Did any of you click on it to answer the survey?

I never saw that ,
the only pop-up I kept getting was them trying to sell me prints .

400 a year is outrageous .
Did Face-Boob buy it and now trying to force people to move to Face-Butt ?
