Hi Donald,

cool build shaping up. was wondering where can i get that barrel?

was thinking of doing somehing similar but i thought about using the 128mm barrel and manlet from a jagdpanther ii set from amusing hobby...their panther ii kit has the spare barrel and manlet.

Will follow this build.

Hi just a suggestion since we're doing a what if here.

Given the weight of the gun perhaps you should use the steel wheel tires rather than the rubber rimmed ones.

Something like what they did with the japdpanzer if with the L70 Kwk 42.

It'll be cool to see a steel wheeled jagdpanther which I'm thinking to do for my kit bash...

This is reminiscent to a Hetzer the I saw on Ebay a few years ago that someone had done. They stuck an 88mm L/71 on it.

Hi Ken.
The Gun Barrel is #35B108 8.8cm. KwK L/100 for E-75 Standardpanzer from RB Models.
You should be able to get it anywhere the RB Models Gun Barrels are available.
Regards.

I was thinking that myself , but the only steel wheels for the Panther that I have are from an old Shanghi Dragon kit and they won't fit the axles. I'll be using the standard wheels.

Here I adjusted the swing arms to give a 2mm drop from the rear to the front. With that long heavy gun sticking out, I think it would have compressed the front suspension some.

The Wheels.

This build will be placed on hold for a while .
I'm going to be back working on the M1 Assault Breacher build, I have figured out how to fix the Mine Plow.
I'll be back to this when I finish up that.

I finished the Assault Breacher, so I'm back to this one.
I have some of the assembly done and I'm going to paint the Camo. before adding all the little pieces. This should make the masking easier.

This is what I'll be using for the masking.

I'm using a base coat of Green.

I'll start with the masks next.

That gun... it would be difficult driving narrow roads with the gun. Turning impossible😂
I will be following this, I am enjoying the What-ifs. The rear might have also gotten some armpit as some models have them around/above the engine deck. It would also help balancing the tank's weight. Just an idea.

I have the green masked off and the red-brown painted.

Next I'll mask the red-brown areas and spray the Dark Yellow.

That's all for now.

The Yellow has been painted & then the masks removed.

Next I'll add the rest of the small parts and touch up the paint.

I'm finished for now.

This finishes this build, I wanted to try the masking set.
If you are using this set it's easier if you leave off all of the small parts then add them after the masking and painting is finished.
Regards.

I really like this "what if" Jagdpanther. You did a great job.
