Here are some pics of Takoms 21cm Morser 10/16 I just completed for the Artillery Campaign. Pretty much OOB with just a couple of minor mods, plus I hand painted the trophy markings as I didn't like the decals.

Wonderful work on this one my friend. Did you use decals for the writing on the shield or did you paint them yourself? What did you use for the dirt on the pads? Thanks for taking the time to show us your work.

Thanks Brenton, the trophy markings are hand painted. For the dirt on the pads I started with acrylics, 4 different dirt colours applied with a sponge, dark to light, then a light application of Vallejo European Mud and topped off with a blend of pigments I mixed up to try to match the soil on Vimy Ridge. Dirt on the trail, spade etc was oils followed by the pigment mix.

Cheers,
Colin

OK, thanks for the reply. I like to try and hand paint the markings, especially on the WWI models. I have this kit so you have given me a great standard to shoot for.

Sharp. Arty is not my bag but very well done. Especially effective is the dirt build up on lower surfaces.
