The jeep fire truck looks good, but it is not a CJ2A. On the WWII Willys the gas tank filler cap is under the seat and the seat hinges forward for access. On the CJ2A the gas tank is under the seat but the gas cap is on the left side inset in the body and the seat is fixed. None the less I think there were WWII jeeps converted. Just use the stock kit front grill.

Would you know of full CJ2A kits in 1/35?

None in plastic. There might have been a resin conversion at one time. I can't remember.

During my Tank Workshop days our Japanese contact told us that Skybow had a CJ2 planned, but once the company went under who knows what became of those plans.

The CJ2A was used by the IDF, so I would like a 1/35th kit to do an IDF version.

Hello Pave-hawk, maybe I can help you with that, I've a 200+ photo walk around of the 6 wheeler troop carrier, fitters vehicle, and the flatbed version. If anyone is interested in it, let me know and I will send you a disc.

Kylie, I'd love to get a Disc too. PM incoming.

Thanks! In my case my plan was to use one as base for an early jeepney.

Anyone know of some suitable figures for the Rover? At the moment, I'm thinking that I'll have to modify some to suit.

most likely you will have to modify some figures. I haven't been able to find too many modern Aussie soldiers, though black dog do make a couple of standing Aussie soldiers that should at least have the correct style uniform, but are armed with F88s rather than M4s. They also have a lot more load bearing gear than I have seen in photos of SAS guys mounted on LRPVs.

I did use an MB for a previous project. However I understand that CJ2As were used and converted as well.

I understand now.

One of my co-workers is from the Philippines. She married another co-worker. They took a Jeepney ride in Manila on a shopping trip while visiting her family. Scared him half to death.

Lots of jeep parts are made there. I have a brand new jeep body ready for my Willys, when I get back to it.

There are a few more pics of the LRPV kit on Hobbyeasy :

H.P.

Hard to tell in detail but the chassis definitely looks wrong.
Looks like they took a standard 4x4 chassis and just extended it, with coil suspension for the rear two axles. Potentially disappointing

For me this is not problem as the chassis is not visible at all when the model is finished.

The probleme is about the quality of parts.

My last disappointment about their MTVR conversion with all parts deformed made me suspicious about their seriousness.

Yeah, some drivers can give riders a scare especially if one's not used to it. But outside the city, a leisurely drive by the countryside is a nice experience.

While there are a lot of jeepney manufacturers here, I believe there's one that specializes in various jeeps catering enthusiasts, and even exports such.

On the Aussie 6x6 the chassis mounts for the rear leaf suspension are quite visible without too much effort.
That's not really my main concern though.
If the have just decided to use a lengthened 4x4 chassis instead of the correct chassis, I wonder if they have bothered to widen it appropriately to allow for the wider track of the 6x6.
