There isn't a comment which could be made that would come close to adequately explain the rationale behind this. I need three beers.

Maybe it's camouflage for when it's parked in a lumber yard.

Well at least it protects against magnetic bombs and gets rid of the clutter of old wooden crates.

Maybe someone was researching Pacific armor for his Dragon M4A2 USMC kit and got carried away.

Hey, ISIS built that wooden tank, so maybe this is supposed to go up against it...

I like the part where they are using wooden crates. Could that be considered as spaced armor?

Looks similar to the Spz Marder with pallets, as seen on the cover of a Tankograd publication.

OK, after reading a bit about this close in, street conflict; could the addition of all this wood applicae be intended to trap or absorbe small arms fire that might otherwise be bouncing off the metal plates and hitting the friendly forces advancing in support of the armor? Just a thought.

So they have all the cool digital camouflage only to hide it under lumber, foam insulation and cardboard?

High tech engineering meets low tech practicality.

What ever the purpose behind it it must work judging by the number of vehicles with it. This would be a fun modification for a future build.

I'm willing to guess those armoured cars make a great reflective surface during the rainy season (right now), and adding wood and other materials would help cut that down.

I take back what I just said. Maybe camouflage isn't their highest priority.
