I tried to ask this in the other post, but no reply, I'm just trying to break the language barrier we have from across the pond, but I was wondering is it the same, or something totally different, or is it the same as what you call surgical spirits, and are they all one and the same, or is everything different? Thank you in advance.

Surgical spirits is a medical alcohol. It contains Ethanol and Methanol.
Rubbing alcohol contains Isopropyl Alcohol. No ethanol nor methanol is in "rubbing".
So, they are totally different.

White spirits (UK) would be the equivalent of Mineral spirits in the US.

FWIW, cellulose thinner (UK) equals Lacquer thinner in the US.

And Scotch is the same.........!!!!!!!
Drink it, don't airbrush with it, and of course
if you drink too much of it,
don't airbrush or drive.........
