Hello there

Here I wanna show you guys my latest finished project.

It is the A7V from Meng, first ever Tank that the German`s build. There is not much to say to the kit itself, Meng provides a lot of photo etch and the Decals are really nice to work with. I heard some horror stories about Meng`s Decal`s, but luckily they were quite good to work with, just took some time to put them all on, because there are so many (took me more than n hour).
I used Tamiya Paints for the base color and the camouflage. The Weathering was done with some Vallejo and MiG products (my first ever time using Streaking effects on one of my Models).
So I hope to get some constructive criticism from you guys.

Very nice overall feel to it David. Nice subtle approach to the weathering, but the groundwork needs ironing

Nice work David, I had heard the same thing about the decals, glad to know that there is hope for them though.

Looks great, David. I've just recently finished my A7V and have yet to weather it. You've given me some ideas! As for the decals, you're right. Slow work but I had no problems other than having to apply generous amounts of Microset and Microsol. Cutting slits in the large iron crosses on the ventilation grids was a bit of a worry, but mine came out just fine--as did yours. It was a fun kit to build. As soon as I get mine weathered I'll post a photo.

What do you mean with "ironing the ground work"

Was the Model itself not build correctly? Maybe some left over flesh somewhere?? Is the base color or the camouflage not correct? Or maybe the weathering??? I would like some more information what you meant

I almost threw this Kit in the dumpster! The Interior, specially the drivers compartment. Almost made me lose the last of my hair on my head

So I had to take a brake from that project for a while, until I decided to just do the outside.
I had some worries about the decals on top as well. I actually "ripped" one or two corners, because my knife didn't cut it correctly. But luckily with a bit of Microsol, I was able to fix it.

You don't get to see WW1 Tanks that often.

You get almost anything what your heart desires, specially when its German Armour from WW2!

Very nice work, the A7V is one of my favorites tanks. I don't know if it is the strange shape all the rivets or those square panels, but the tank just appeals to me. Thanks for sharing your work are you planning on putting it into a diorama in the future?

For sure its a nice looking Tank. But my Girlfriend thinks otherwise! When she walked in to my Hobby room (while I was working on the camouflage), she really asked me "Why are you building a Box on tracks?"

At the moment I don't have plans on putting this on a Diorama. But you never know

I second that ModelCellar has some awesome figures that are extremely well modeled and very original poses. I have several of their figures and sets on my want list, just need to get some cash saved up to make the purchase. There A7V and 21CM Morser crews look great.
