Perhaps a little mundane compared to some of the other great suggestions here, but I'd like to see a new tooled Ford GPA jeep in plastic in 1/35.

To be honest I'm quite surprised you don't have M551/M551A1 in your, otherwise very comprehensive, list

It is still on top of my list. The only other thing I REALLY want now is an accurate M3/M3A1 Stuart kit. There is a lot of other models that I would be glad to see released, but Sheridan and Stuart are two that I really, really want.

Add to the Sheridan, an M54 five ton truck (with a winch). A new tooled M110/ M107 would be very nice.

I'd like a bergpanther and M18, both in 1/48 and 1/35. A 1/48 Grant and Dragonwagon would also be sweet.

Italeri does a Type 87 and Revell a Type 82. CMK does 3 variants although I think the Revell and CMK Type 82 kits are the same mouldings - Revell reboxing CMK?.

Bergepanther G

Couldn't agree more, Jerry, and perhaps a decent Ausf A as well. Perhaps also some more building time, preferably without 22 month old granddaughter sitting at my left elbow seeing what she can filch.

Make no mistake, I love her dearly, but she does dreadful things to my stress levels!

Regards

Rob

Yes. I have a CMK Type 87 I did as an 82e and I can only hope the Revell kit didn't suffer from as many undershot parts.

As for the Type 87, the Type 82, and the Type 82e, we have what you would call two Beetles and a Kübelwagen (As a former Type 2 Transporter owner, I refer to VW's by their Type). The Type 82 is the Kübel you all know and love while the 82e is a Beetle body on a Kübel chassis. The 87 is a 4-wheel drive version of the 82e. This was a discussion on a VW website (The Samba) a few years back as a member was going to attempt to build one from donor early split window VW bodies.

Interesting note for modelers: Apparently these guys have never seen photo evidence any of the Type 87 or 82e were shipped to North Africa, no matter what companies show on the kit box. These two Beetle-bodied versions of the Kübelwagen were built in roughly equal numbers: ~660 each. Also, the Type 87 had slightly wider fenders to accommodate larger tires. The 82e did not. It is hard to tell them apart unless they are next to each other and you can notice the difference in apparent width. Twelve versus sixteen inch wheels, I believe. The size of the fenders was an easy redesign as the fenders all attached the same way. Did you know the one of the original design plans for Porsche's KDFwagen was that the fenders would be the same on all four corners, making replacement parts easy to manufacture and obtain? As there are only 3, possibly 4 Type 87 known to still exist (one in private hands and the others in museums - the one at VW is a vehicle completed after the war when the factory was restarted by the British) the chance you'll get to compare them is very small.

Anyway, tl;dr

Thanks Peter & Shell for the info. I had the CMK kit a long time ago. I seem to remember it suffering from ill fitting windows. If Revell is a re-boxing, no thanks. I didn't know about Italeri's offering though. Have to check them out. I also have 2 Aeroplast V-dubs that are a bit crude by today's standards and will use them if nothing better comes along.
I want to do a rather large diorama with MiniArt's tram as the center piece.
Think about the lifespan of the Beetle how the body styles only slightly changed once it dropped the split window. A manufacturer could almost have 40 years worth of VWs in a box just adding different bumpers, little chrome signal lights and other little details.
Maybe VW just wants a bunch of money to allow a plastic version to be released and nobody will give in to their demands.
ANYWAY, that's my wants & wishes. We are so darned lucky right now with all the new and sometimes slightly obscure kit releases. I should be happy with that.
Have a good weekend all !

arggg! fat fingered the keyboard. Its a M109A6 that was just released by Academy.

But I am already wondering also about the tracks. And have looked into maybe upgrading. I plan on tacking my time on this build better.
